It's October. And now I think it might officially be safe to say that the Summer of Suck is over (since, well, the Summer of Suck continued into September due to some leftover angst and terrorist activity). In a fit of gratitude (and work avoidance), I thought I would let some people know how much I appreciate them. So here goes, in no particular order:
Princess, what can I possibly say that can do justice to what you've done? Thank you, endless thank yous, for never giving up, for never telling me to 'just get over it,' for never admitting how unbearable I can be (even though I know it). Extra special thank yous for the greatest gift of all - the gift of your wonderful self. Thank you for being my yang. Thank you for being my missing pieces. Ani ohevet otcha.
Ninja, thank you for always listening, for always being on my side, and for knowing when to press and when to back away quietly. Super thank yous for a completely comfortable weekend, the kind that's supposed to take a long time to get to. Thank you for always being in my corner, and for being my sister-in-arms. Whenever you're considering seppuku (yes, Princess, I know, /I know/, honorless dogs), I'll be there with haiku.
Jodie-O, what can I say? The roller coaster we've been on this summer, if nothing else, has reinforced to me what 'unconditional love' means. I probably don't tell you enough, but I appreciate you immensely, and never overlook how important you are in my life. I'm glad we came together, it makes me think that 'fate' might not be /entirely/ imaginary. "And I swear that I don't have a gun. No I don't have a gun. Oh wait, here's one!"
Ms. Binkie, I am SO eternally grateful that you've moved to Klumbis! From Game Show network to clawcake to eight million cookbooks to "Look! I have gay books! Look! Gay books!" to the 70s pickle dispenser to the way you smile to "direct questions" to burping to hugs, your presence in my town and your friendship are doing more to elevate me from the angstiness of living with the ex than anything else. Save me a place in Smurfyland, I will so totally be there. We can be so 'Boston.'
Pajama Jones, you are everything I'd hoped you would be - supportive and understanding, quietly cynical, and fiercely loyal. Thank you for being my friend. It is an honor and a privilege, and I know it. Take care of my Bink. If you ever think I'm giving you too much of a hard time, tell me to stop. Honest. I adore you. Even if you have facial hair and an 'outie.'
Juliann, my darling, thank you for sending me flowers when I was feeling unloved, and thank you for the housewarming gift when we had to move because of the fire. Thank you for telling me that debts are for when you're old and friends are for now. I will never forget that. Ever. Pirates always make me think of you.
Kristofer, you need an LJ so I can link to you. But thank you anyway. Remember the night I was insufferable? When I was listening to Indigo Girls and it was breaking my heart? Thank you for holding it for me until I was ready to put it back together. Thank you for encouraging me to follow my path without guilt. And thank you for Gaiman's autograph, which reminded me that people loved me, endlessly.
My adoring fans, thank you for your endless distractions, words, kindnesses, and laughs. Sometimes the best thing to do when confronted with too many extraneous stresses is to go on a mental vacation, and you have all been very good for that. Thank you for taking my mind to Oregon, to Atlanta, to Bowling Green, to London, to California, to Ontario, to South Carolina, to North Carolina, to New York, to New Jersey, to Tennessee, to Cleveland, to Waltham, to Singapore. I needed that.
Obrigado. Obrigado. Obrigado. I am so fortunate to have all of you in my life.
ObJig: I am so proud of you.
ObNeb: You too, you know. You're so strong.
ObTwin: Love and Count Chocula.
ObLou: You are HOT.
ObFly: I'm glad we 'met.'
ObLara: Tuesday afternoons are more fun now.
ObYou: Your life is already too easy.
ObThes: Smooch her. *click*
ObGala: Cutie. I'll peel your tomatoes anytime.

Two simple words are the greatest to hear:
Thank you.
and of course: You rock! :)

Date: 2001-10-02 07:53 pm (UTC)I need to come up with something that meets the needs of being not overly related to my realname to avoid bad things like old relationships tracking it down, or even well, employers.... and yet not be random strings of characters just to satisfy the LJ....
You are not the only one that wants me to have one. *sigh*
