At the end of the tour...

Our trip isn't exactly wrapping up the way we'd planned. We were going to spend yesterday visiting the new homes of some of our friends, and then get cleaned up and take
whirledpeas to the Melting Pot because it's my Jennifer's favorite place in the world, and it takes like three hours to eat so you can get a lot of talking in.
Instead, Jen and I went to Aaron's house first (my ex) and Jen wasn't feeling well. I dragged her to Coldstone Creamery anyway because I am a jerk, and then took her home and went to see Coworker Sarah's house. (As a side note, I love Sarah's house, don't really like A's house.) Sarah, Mark (her fiance) and I sat around and watched MTV for a while and then I went home to get ready for dinner. But when I got there, Jen was sick. Like, really sick. Ridiculously sick. We cancelled our reservation at the Melting Pot.
I tried really hard to calm Jen down so she could get some sleep. Peas and I ended up going to El Vaquero instead (YUM) where I ate far too much food, but we talked about absolutely everything until El Vaq closed and they kicked us out. While we were out, Dr. Brad from next door checked in on Jen and hooked her up with some drugs. She's feeling a little better this morning and was able to have several glasses of ginger ale and some chicken soup. I really want Chipotle for lunch but I don't know if sitting in there watching me eat a ginormous burrito will make her more sick. Since we have to fly out this afternoon, sick would be bad.
I am so grateful to Patti and Scott for their hospitality. They've been so nice about having a nice guest room for us to sleep in, and having a party and a big cookout for us, and just being so nice about everything, especially when Jen was so sick. They have just been fantastic friends and I am so, so thankful. Scott's at work and Patti and Fisher are out right now, so to thank them a little bit I tidied up their house. I hope they're not offended - I just picked up and put away all of the kid toys and stuff. I hope it's a pleasant surprise for them! (Fisher is a whirlwind and Patti spends her lifetime picking up.)
Thank you so much to everyone who has been so great to us, even though every single one of you wants to know when we're moving back. I got so overwhelmed by that question because there's not even a "when," more of an "if," and I know that's not an acceptible answer. But we've REALLY enjoyed being here with all of you. You're all so damned wonderful!
(Oh, and the $130k houses are pretty effing wonderful, too.)
