Waterlogged

You know, there's really nothing worse that a freaking nor-easter at the end of May that brings whipping wind, forty-degree temperatures, and several inches of rain. Unless you have all of that /and/ a job that keeps you running from place to place to place all freaking day. Nothing bad happened to me today but I still had the crappiest day, thanks to my friend the weather. I swear, 2005 in Massachusetts has totally SUCKED so far, weatherwise.
I am so wet and so cranky. I had five hour-long home visits back-to-back over a course of six hours, followed by a one hour staff meeting, followed by 2.5 hours of volunteering. My day looked like this:
8:45 - office doing paperwork
9:30 - home visit in Dorchester
10:45 - home visit in Roxbury
12:00 - home visit in Southie
1:00 - another home visit in Southie
2:15 - another home visit in Southie
3:30 - stop at CVS to pick up shampoo and baby shower card for coworker
3:45 - staff meeting
5:00 - drive home
5:10 - ditch stuff in hallway, walk to T in rain
6:00 - arrive at volunteering
8:30 - co-volunteer leaves; I had misfortune of picking up a call at 8:20
8:50 - end call, dash out of volunteering, walk through rain to Kenmore, get soaked
10:00 - arrive home, peel off wet clothing, put on pajamas
There are several interesting tidbits missing, such as the huge puddle I stepped in by accident with my left foot. Or the fast food place I had to stop at on the way home because I was starving, and on the two minute walk from the fast food to the T, my food bag got so soaked that it ripped and I had to catch my greasy food in mid-air. Or the part where it was raining so hard that it soaked through parts of my Gore-Tex raincoat. Or eating my lunch in my car to find that it was so cold out that my soda was still quite chilled. Or walking into work at 3:45 and simply saying, "SUCK!" to our receptionist.
Yeah, today was a cold, wet, and craptastical day. I can't believe that this is Memorial Day weekend, and that next week's appointments are in /June/. You would never know it with our current 40-degree weather, with everyone wearing winter coats and gloves.
I wish I was freaking kidding about that last part.
