Ugh, I just can't even stand it... anywhere.

My uncle was watching television at his house yesterday (NASCAR race) and there were a bunch of Nextel commercials and that noise was driving me insane!

I don't understand why anyone would want to talk on a Walkie Talkie anyway. I mean that was cool when I was 12 playing G. I. Joe.. but after that? Beep "Hey Baby, I'll be home soon".. Beep "Okay" Beep.. Yeah, Right.. Beep.

I much prefer annoying Ringtones. :-)

A lot of people think that the walkie-talkie feature doesn't use minutes... but that might not be true.

From: [identity profile] folkyboy.livejournal.com
you're right it doesn't use minutes because it's person-to-person. but they can make it sound just like a regular phone if they wanted. they don't have to make it on a speaker phone and they can talk without anyone hearing

1. nextel phones
2. annoying neighbors who steal my parking spot who drinkall day every day while they should be WATCHING THEIR CHILDREN.

ugh, no respect.

im sure the list could go on but i got bored at too and really jsut wanted to complain.

I like the ice cream man song for like one minute and then it gets annoying, too. Especially because the ice cream man for my neighborhood has an especially annoying song that is not at all like a calliope or carousel, and is instead this totally ridiculous muzac that starts with a creepy recorded voice saying, "Hello!"

Weird.

But my #1 window noise pet peeve is and will always be: MINI MOTORCYCLES.

We have at least two mini-motorcycle riders in our neighborhood. I'm patiently waiting for an opportune time to fling a slab of steak at their head when they're not looking.

Why don't you just get them towed? I hear you're good at that.

Now I know why it was so funny on Seinfeld.

Dude, I've completely abandoned the Board. I just stopped responding to their emails, phone calls, and everything else. They seriously pissed me off with their Jr High school drama and posturing. Elections are being held on Wednesday evening. Not only I'm not going to run again, I'm not going to even show up, citing a conflict with my work schedule.

The President a lightning rod of controversy, and two other Board Members are so catty, divisive, arbitrary, and power-mongering that it hampers the genuine efforts of others. Furthermore, ineffectiveness and negligence makes that Board a lawsuit waiting to happen... and I have no intention of being anywhere near it when shit goes down.

Now... Aren't you glad you brought it up?

You mean "bitter" as in 'I feel the uneasy disgust at this situation in the same way the bile of my disappointment creeps up my esophagus, to the point at which I can almost taste my disdain of the Homeowners Board in my mouth?'

No... I'm not bitter at all.

Got a TicTac?

I have never understood why you can't change that effin ring. I mean yes its good to get the word out that nextell is cool and all but, seriously, there were times where I had to carry one for work and someones would ring and you would see fifteen people look at their damn nextell.

And, mine didn't vibrate too hard so I had to have it make that damn noise.

P.S. I have got a side job for friday doing security for the setup for Pride. :)

1. Apparently you CAN change the ring. And you can make it silent, too. How annoying!

2. Have fun! That sounds like a wicked good time!

It gives me homicidal impulses too. Worst thing, though? You're riding the train, and you come up from underground. Train is packed, and everyone whips out their cells. Invariably at least one, usually two, inconsiderate prick has one of these things, and it's cranked up to MAXIMUM VOLUME. They're usually standing right in front of you. They will both be using them at the same time, which means you get not one set of chirps, but two, offset, and since you're on the train, they get crappy signal, so they're squalking about that too. Jeez... Ranting much?

I'm glad I don't take public transportation often. I can't believe how much more annoying it is with all of those cell phones and walkie talkies. The first time I took a bus to NYC after the cell phone boom, I was simply /stunned/ at how ridiculous it was to have all of those stupid conversations going on. That's why I love planes... at least people can't have their phones on in the air!

The person who invented the Nextel "chirp" should have a nice toasty seat waiting for them in Hell. My god, I HATE that noise with a passion. What's worse, you see/hear those damned things so much around here. They're called "redneck radios" (derisively, of course) for a reason. I think that the closer you get to Lancaster and Circleville, the more ubiquitous they become. Being on the southeast side of town, I think we're the Nextel capital of Columbus. And people use them at the frickin' pool right outside of my apartment, so if I have the window opened on a nice day (like today) I hear that damned "chirp" every 15 seconds.

I'm glad to know that I'm not the only person that gets homicidal at the hearing of that sound.

I bet some of them used to hate it too, then they got the phones so they could annoy everyone else. That sounds about right for the way some people think.
