I want to see the lesbian coming-of-age movie and my Jennifer wants to see the anime movie.

Typical, typical.

Why can't we ever want to see the same movie?

Ryan & I never want to see the same movies. I prefer romantic comedies - he likes action, sci-fi movies.

Jen can go see all of those action and sci-fi movies with Ryan. Sometimes I like romantic comedies but not usually. I really like psychological thrillers and those movies that are heavy on the drama. (My friend Sonal used to call them "social work movies.")

and theennnnnnnnn

Nick and I always want to see the same movies. Then, we can't decide which one to see...then, we end up pondering it for hours (sometimes days, as we have been doing with War of the Worlds and Batman Begins), and then we never end up going! :D

There's plenty of lesbian anime movies out there that I'm sure will make you both happy!

Anime makes me break out in hives. Really.

(I don't have any geek genes.)

I know. I just wanted to go on record that even ANIME BOOBIES make me break out. :)

Howl was AWESOME and it's not anime, really.

I wouldn't mind seeing it, because I did enjoy Spirited Away enough, but I'm not really in the mood to see it /today/. I have to be mentally awake enough for a subtitled movie, because if I'm not I end up zoning into the letters and missing those newfangled moving pictures. :)

It ended up not mattering, since the monsoon meant we didn't leave the house.

Dunno about there, but the Drexel was showing both a subbed and a dubbed version....

Here too, but it's looking like the dubbed version is only playing matinees in the theatre I was looking at. And we don't have a lot of matinee time together, since I work Fridays (Jen's off) and Jen works Saturdays (I'm off) and Sundays are usually Dad House Days.

It isn't subtitled in any of the local theaters.

I could have sworn there was a subbed version at Kendall.

Joe says one theater is doing it now, so I was wrong.

We have the same problem. *Sometimes* we want to see the same movie, but often I go or watch things alone. I know what you mean!

Date: 2005-07-09 02:01 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] judecorp.livejournal.com
Yeah, I tend not to go to movies alone but I Netflix most of the movies that I wanted to see that we didn't go see. Most of the time we end up going to the blockbusters and stuff in the theatre, stuff that she wants to see way more than I do.

With the exception of Harry Potter, we rarely like the same movies.

I think it's a rule of being married. Wiley and I rarely want to see the same things either.

What do you like to watch and what does Wiley like to watch?

(Trying to work things out.)

Naw, she's right. It was in the fine print on the back of your marriage license. You gave the Commonwealth permission to cause movie-watching incompatibities. You shoud've read it all before you signed it.

I want to see the lesbian coming-of-age movie, too! I should have seen it during my whirlwind minneapolis trip, but I just didn't have time.
