the other ones are more downswept and seem to drag your entire face down, lending a droopy/depressed appearance (the fact your not smiling in the first pic probably contributes to that).

the new ones don't look droopy or saggy, hence making you look pert/alert/"saucy"

People naturally look towards a person's eyes (well, when they're not looking at her b00bs) in a subconscious attempt to guage mood/disposition/intent. the right frames on the right person can make all the difference when it comes to first impressions!

You're right, I didn't smile at all in the top pic either (I thought I was making the same face but I was totally wrong. Oops.) so that definitely changes things.

I actually like my old glasses quite a bit, and didn't really want to change them (just get new lenses) but I was afraid that they were going to get screwed up because they are old and beat up. These frames actually seem more girly so I imagine I'll be resurrecting the old ones every now and again when I want a change. (Or when I want to look more surly, I'd imagine.)

The upsweep generally makes you look less stern and more approachable. Besides, there's this entire Lisa Loeb thing going with the upsweep, which isn't a bad thing.

What you can't see in the photo is that the new glasses are black on the outside and light blue on the inside (like old school Cadillac blue), so it kind of works the whole blue eyes thing, too.

They're neat. We can't really afford them right now but Jen likes to insist that I spend money on myself sometimes, and not on things like cavities.

I really like the new ones too. My glasses have what looks like chew marks on them. I think the dogs find them tasty.

I should check out some new frames if I can't find a replacement temple. Where did you find those glasses? I am going to check out For Eyes.

OH, Danny goes back to school this week. He's going to have some killer late nights where I'll be free to do something fun.

This humidity is killing me... the dogs don't even want to play outside. Bleh.

My old glasses had chew marks on the ends, too... but I don't know if that's from me or from the cats. I tend to chew on glasses, too. (I know some of the scratches are from the cats!)

I went to the Lenscrafters at the South Shore Plaza mall. I've never been to For Eyes but I've heard other people mention them. Go get new glasses, it's fun!

And I look forward to doing something fun! (With new glasses.) Even in the humidity - which I admit is definitely killer.
