I was beginning my junior year of college at Hofstra. (Why pay less?) I was pretty much done with all of my requirements at this point and took a lot of random classes, which was great. In June of '95, I met my Jennifer at a party at Dory's house.

I had finished my first Master's program and was wrapping things up at my second summer at Philmont, where I fought the religious fundies with
thelastbard and
goddamnelf. After Philmont, A. and I moved to Bangor (ME). Soon I would start my first full-time job as an education researcher.

A. and I had moved to Columbus on the first of June, and we were still getting to know our new area. I was temping at a residential school for kids with serious mental health diagnoses (as a medical transcriptionist) and getting ready to start the MSW program at OSU. (Go Bucks!)

June '03 was a busy month: finished the MSW program, finalized the divorce, and Jen and I decided to take a break from our very intense relationship. But by this time three years ago, Jen was wrapping up her summer at camp and we'd decided it would be cool if she moved to Columbus so we could give our relationship a go without the hinderances of distance. (Best. Decision. Ever.)

Jen and I had been in Boston for a couple of months, and we were now finally /both/ employed (me in July, her in August). We were still broke as a joke so were always looking for free things to do. Very stressful.

Jen and I went to Foxwoods with my grandparents and their friend, Alice. We had a good time, then got into a stupid heated discussion in the car which led to hurt feelings. I guess that macaroni angel really has it in for me.
5 Favorite snacks
Oranges; those sugar cookies with frosting and sprinkles on them from the grocery store; ice cream; cherries; swedish fish.

What I would do with Five Million Dollars
Pay Jen's student loans. Pay Dad's bills. Buy an old farmhouse with a big bunch of land in Western Mass and spruce it up in a big way. Quit working and adopt/foster some kids ASAP. Donate to charities. Get rid of the frickin' Ford Focus.
5 Places I would escape to for a while
San Francisco; Key West; South Africa; Vancouver; London.

Date: 2005-08-28 02:42 am (UTC)I was 11. I was in 7th grade. I was really happy that OJ Simpson was found not guilty, I heard my first Nirvana song, decided I was a "freak" and hung out with the appropriate crowd, and was really into church.

I was super into KoRn (even wearing a homemade bracelet made of corn), lost my faith in organized religion, and began my first in a serious of unrequited high school crushes. (I was a freshman.)

I started becoming super slutty around this time as I entered the punk rock scene (almost exactly 5 years ago to the day, as it was in August that I went to my first "show".) I had a huge, obsessive crush on this guy, and it led me to having a pot-induced nervous breakdown, so I gave up smoking around that time.

I lived at my ex-boyfriend, Brandon's, grandma's house for most of the summer. He couldn't drive, I didn't have a job, so we spent most of our summer sitting on his couch watching Boy Meets World, Lizzy McGuire, and Conan. I would get upset and cry when I would tell him that I was so tired that if I drove home, I would wreck (since it was a half an hour to my Mom's house), and he still wouldn't let me stay because his grandma would throw a fit. In September, we broke up, you and Ryan took me to Old Spaghetti Warehouse, and I met jason. I also dropped out of school for a quarter and got a job at the mortgage company.

I was just getting settled into this house in Upper Arlington with jason and Jen. I was miserable because the marching band was playing their drum line at 7am each morning. I was about 6 months away from graduating college, and scared shitless because I still hadn't figured out what I wanted to do with my life. (I guess I still haven't.)

I spent most of the day bored and angry at work because I was doing "fake work", i.e. busy work because they want us to be able to bill as much as possible and not piss off our boss. jason and I went to Bravo, where we spent $25 of the $100 in gift certificates I got for complaining to the company. I wanted to get drunk and make out with him later, but fell asleep watching "Most Extreme Animals" on Animal Planet at 11pm instead.
5 Favorite snacks

What I would do with Five Million Dollars
Buy a Ferrari, buy a house, buy a big TV, invest the rest in Google, Apple, and some other safe investment stocks, pay off my school loans/credit cards/car loans, move to Portland

Chicago, Maui, Aspen, New York, France
