The return of SVU
Sep. 20th, 2005 11:30 pmTonight's SVU really stuck my heart in my throat, at least for the last half hour. Yowch!
I don't like to regularly agree with perps, but I have to go with Ray on this one. I think Elliott totally /did/ bait him. I think what happened in that episode is completely and totally unethical. There have been times in other episodes where I wonder, "Hmmm, would that really happen? That's not a great idea," but never like this. I am /furious/ at the thought that things like this might actually happen during police investigations.
Besides, Christopher Meloni always looks a little goofy when he's trying to be a tough guy. And what was with Mariska's hair??!? Someone please tell me they're going to fix that soon. She looks like a frumpy middle-aged hausfrau instead of my saucy, saucy Livvy.

We really lucked out into this place. It /is/ gorgeous. It's a bit farther out from the city than we would have liked, and it's still a touch too pricey for us, but we have so much light, airy space.
Total luck.
hair politics
Date: 2005-09-21 12:10 pm (UTC)my /mom/ even made a comment last time we were home that she thought she looked better in the earlier seasons.
i felt like a lot of the episode was forced. without giving stuff away, i'll just say it was just too obviously setting up the Elliott storyline for the season. i mean, that is the point of a premiere, right, but although i appreciate the mirroring done b/w elliott and perp ray, it was a little heavy-handed.
now if they could just write in a reason for benson to get her hair chopped off. let's send NBC some ideas.
Re: hair politics
Date: 2005-09-22 01:11 am (UTC)Also, Mariska DEFINITELY needs an intervention with the hair. First Alex is replaced with Casey and then there's a hair fiasco. I can't take it anymore!!
We should send a petition signed by lesbos everywhere re: the haircut.

Date: 2005-09-22 01:12 am (UTC)I so miss her season two cropped hair and tight shirts. Dear gods, but that was probably the hottest thing ever ever ever. That's how I ended up selling my soul to SVU!
Speaking of hair, yours is looking really cute!

Date: 2005-09-22 01:45 am (UTC)Well, I miss my cropped hair, that's fo' sho'. It's in that awkward, feathered, mullet stage. I might like it more when I can braid it.

Date: 2005-09-22 01:13 am (UTC)This one really crossed the line, IMHO, and it wasn't believable. No supervisor, no police department, nobody would have let something like this actually happen. I hope.
