Another boring old television night

Another Friday night with nothing going on except the computer and the television. I'm really starting to hate these antisocial nothing-going-on nights, especially with so much of my weekend often eaten up by RI-related pursuits. I have to barrel down there tomorrow morning to meet my brother and the auction house. Hopefully they have good news, but still, it's never fun to watch a stranger paw through your dead father's stuff.

I tried to think of things to do tonight but Jen wasn't jazzed about any of them. I said, "Please, not another night in front of the television," but I guess at this point there's nothing else going on. At least the kitchen and the litter box are clean - two less things to try to squeeze in tomorrow after RI.

Maybe this is the universe's way of telling me to get my grumpy butt to bed.

It's the same for me...and I don't feel safe going out alone, really.

There's been a recent crime wave in our 3 stoplight town.

Although I don't know what we'd do even if Mark was awake....we are broke!

Sometimes I don't mind going out alone or finding my own plans, but sometimes you just want a couple of hours on the town with a sweetie.

even if we disagree on breast feeding matters, i do hope you (and jen!) can make it to my halloween party extravaganza tomorrow evening. it's something somewhat exciting to do, at least.

Dear Lisa,

I actually don't think we're going to be able to make it, but it has nothing to do with extended breastfeeding. I didn't find out when your party was until last week, and I've been committed to having this auction house come to my dad's house (from NJ) for a month. My brother flew in from Missouri for it and everything, and the rumor is that after the auction person leaves we're having some sort of family dinner with my grandparents and my aunt and uncle.

I'm sorry. :(

Not that there's anything wrong with wanting to go out of course. I miss the days where we could just up and decide to go out and have fun.

I /do/ enjoy time at home with my sweetie, when we're spending it together it's extra nice. I just /really/ needed to go out of the house last night to kind of blow off some steam before today, and I asked if we could do that, and it didn't happen. That's kind of a letdown, when someone says, "I really need this," and that plea somehow disappears into the aether.
