Slacking off

I feel kind of guilty because I called off of volunteering on the HelpLine tonight. It's only the second time I've ever called off but I still feel bad because I'm pretty sure I was the only person who was going to be on shift tonight. I just couldn't do it. I got about three hours of sleep last night (must have been overtired) and was just dragging all day. By the time I finished playgroup I thought I was going to fall down, and I still had three home visits to go to. I managed to get through them, but on my way to the third I realized that I would be no good to anyone who might be calling in and wanting me to be able to listen effectively and help them out. So here's a big "I'm sorry" to anyone who would have called in and wanted to talk tonight.

Jen didn't put the kitten back in The Room this morning when she left for work and everything seems to be fine. Daedalus and Fin are curled into kitty donuts on opposite sides of me and Ralph is nearby on the papasan. No one has killed anyone and no one has peed or pooped all over the house. I guess we're officially a three-cat household!

So I got home at 6 instead of 9 and have already cleared out some e-mail, written my strangeland article, eaten dinner, and am pretty much ready for bed. ANTM is droning in the background and since I can barely keep my eyes open, I don't regret my decision.
