Coughy

I can't believe I'm sick again. This is pathetic! I think I was sick for the entire month of December and the first week or two of January. Then I had a little reprieve, and now this! What is UP?

I randomly started coughing and wheezing on Sunday. That's never happened to me. Usually I start with a head cold and then eventually it makes its way down to a chest cold. This time I had the coughing junk on Sunday and Monday, and last night I got terrible sleep because I kept waking up coughing. Today I was coughing way more than yesterday but now I seem to be getting the head congestion, too. Cold in reverse!

My plan is to stay up until Jen gets home from work and then try to head to bed. I might take some of Jen's old prescription cough syrup from when she had bronchitis before bed. I had a wonky reaction to codeine once when I got my wisdom teeth out, but I'm willing to try again if it means I might get some decent sleep for a change! *yawn*

And gah, why are the Boston try-outs so BAD? What is WITH this town?

Eeep. Be careful with the coughing and wheezing -- it can mean bad things. I've had some of them.

I hope you feel better soon!

It's not like a big wheeze... I can just make myself wheeze if I exhale /really/ hard. I can take deep breaths and everything, no chest pain. But I'm going to keep my eye on it.

Thanks for the love!

the Boston auditions are bad because I didn't go ... (that slice of my ego brought to you buy the colds I can't stop getting, either.)

I recommend Robitussin DM. It makes everything more wonderful. I use it religiously when I get colds and it is the only thing that lets me get some sleep. That, and a humidifier.

1. You should have tried out, that would have been awesome!
2. You are such a Robitussin DM pusher! I swear, you have recommended it to me a million times. :) I actually took some of Jen's old prescription stuff and it seemed to work like a charm. I slept like a big log! (And we already use a humidifier all the time.)

I really really wanted to - I'd practiced for MONTHS, and then they announced the dates and for the Boston auditions, I was in San Francisco and for the SF auditions, I was here. : (

Also, I am totally a RDM pusher - how funny that you've noticed! hahaha ...

I was all coughy and wheezy and congesty on Sunday, too. But either I've already had every virus known to man (which is entirely possible) or the Airborne really works. I feel fine now. You should give it a whirl. DO IT. The instructions say to take it every 3 hours as needed, but I usually just take it once in the morning when I'm not feeling well and it's worked so far. Yay!

I feel so much better today! I was going to go to the store today to buy some Airborne but I ended up feeling so much more functional that I didn't even bother. I didn't take any kind of medicine today at all and things seem much better.

I'll keep that in mind, though. It definitely DOES seem to be working for you. I'm just nervous about the stuff - I don't know the contraindications of the herbal stuff that's in there and I'm always paranoid that things will cause havoc with my medicine. Poop.

You can always call your doctor or the pharmacy and ask if they know of any bad things happening when one mixes Airborne or Cold-eze or whatever with your meds. Then you won't have to fret none!
