New shoes!

Though I am usually a shopping hater, I had major shopping scores today. Go me!

Jen and I finally got around to returning the shirt that Mom sent me for Christmas, which was a fairly ghastly sage-colored flannelette button down from Lands End. I was dubious because I had to return it to Sears and I don't usually find things I like at Sears... well, clothing things. A couple of years ago I returned a shirt Mom got me and exchanged it for a crock pot, but I didn't want another kitchen device for Christmas.

We headed to the clearance section of the shoe department and I found these incredibly cute shoes that are usually $45 for $10.49! They are stompy delicious! And then, when I was looking to see if they had different sizes, I found an adorable pair of slip-on Mudd mary janes (brown, slightly stompy) for, no lie, $2.09.

So for one returned shirt, I bought: 2 pairs of shoes, 2 pairs of shoelaces for Jen, some little stick-on pads to keep the mary janes from sliding off (I have narrow feet and I always lose slip-on shoes), and 5 adorable pairs of new socks. SCORE!

We went to Old Navy after to see if they had winter coats on clearance for Jen, but they were all gone. So instead, we each got a pair of pants for $7 and I got another really cute pair of cargo pants with embroidery on the leg for $20. (I didn't really want to pay $20 for a pair of pants, but they were just the cutest things and all my pants are too big.)

I'm totally going to wear my froo-froo flowery cargos with my froo-froo mary janes tomorrow. I blame this burst of girly-ness entirely on fertility-enhancing drugs. (However, Jen seems to think I'm TEH HOTTNESS in the low-rise, girly-cut clothing, so it's SO worth it!)

My black Docs have really seen better days and need a bit of a reprieve. I'm pleased - can't beat the price. They're a teensy bit too small on my right foot but hell, $10.49! (Similarly, the brown mary janes are too wide... but the things we do for shopping success.)

Did they come with some sort of suede-ish cord with beads as a belt? It's hippielicious!

i was in old navy a few days ago, and i was DRAWN to those same pants... so i tried them on and they didn't look quite right, but damn they are cute and i wish they fit right!

you are going to look adorable at work!

i am not a Shopper kind of person either, but every now and again there is some article that just makes me feel Good. (despite my disappointment at myself for being made happy by a piece of clothing!) *sigh* i guess there are times where the stereotypes come true as far as doing 'girly' things!

Mine are too big, too... but I still wear them sometimes. But I've worn them so much that they're falling apart, so I can't wear them to work much. (They have holes in them!)

I'll have to get photos some other day. Jen and I don't really spend time together in the mornings, so I'll have to wear them on a weekend day.
