  • The dealer did something to our car when they were repairing it. It now stalls every time it's in park, and on the way to work, it actually stalled while I was driving down the road.

  • Now I need to bring it in on Saturday. Because I don't have anything else to do. Ugh.

  • They'd better not try to charge me.

  • Work was thoroughly exhausting today. I didn't wake up in the middle of the night (a plus!), but I also woke up unable to get back to sleep around 6:15am.

  • Coworker Gina made us dinner last night. We're getting spoiled. I love having people cook for me.

  • That "American Inventor" show is incredibly stupid and it is motivating me to go to bed early tonight.

So, goodnight!

· It's probably stalling because if they replaced the sparkplugs and wires, then they might not've actually put them back in correctly. See, you WANT gas to be near the sparkplug -- that's how the combustion happens. And, forgive me for being so brash -- and I'm sure you won't want to read this -- but if all they did was replace the plugs and wires, you guys got bent over HARD. No reach-around or nothin'. The wires would be about $40, the plugs are like $7 each and you need four, and then you'd need an $12 sparkplug wrench -- I've replaced my own a few times.

· I /HATE/ seeing dealerships and mechanics screw women. It drives me effing bonkers, sideways. I'm livid right now, but not very animated, due to the time of day.

· As fate has it, my own ride is in the shop unexpectedly right now...I just won't post anything on it until they take care of everything -- which they will. It's just it's all a big mess right now...long story; you'll see...

· Aren't cars fun?

· I'm still pissed at the dealer. I'll see if I can find you a mechanic around Boston, seeing how your ride is probably no longer under warantee, and dealers tend to screw people anyway.

· I need coffee.

· Happy St. Patty's Day!

1. Our car is under extended warranty.

2. They supposedly did not just change the spark plugs/wires. The last time we had a spark plug problem, they wanted us to do a whole bunch of other maintenance, and instead we went to Auto Zone and bought plugs/wires and our friend put them in himself.

3. What they told Jen was that our spark plugs were in too loosely and they were rattling and starting to slip out some, which was causing more gas than normal to go into the whole system and some was starting to get out, which was what was making the car smell like gas hardcore whenever I used the heater. And then the car was leaking some gas when I got to RI last Saturday, but I don't know about that. So aside from replacing the plugs and wires (and doing a free recall item that we got a postcard about), they also (you'd have to ask Jen, she actually spoke to them) did some sort of flush-out or something.

4. We have several recommended mechanics around Boston, including one that was recommended by our landlords. We actually took the car to them once before, a couple of months ago, because the car wasn't starting all the time and there was a gas smell (so, the same problems, just a couple of months ago). They changed the fuel filter and said nothing was wrong with the car.

5. So basically, I just think the car hates us. We've tried several different mechanical options (friends, recommendation of local mechanic, dealer) and while the price is right-er with the first two, we're still having problems. You know?

hey future BFF.

i have a question. i'm coming in to boston on march 31 to go to an amazing show that will consist of Lori McKenna, Mark Erelli, Girlyman, and Judy Collins. There is a (slight) chance that I can get a plus one on the guest list. Might you want to accompany me to this stupendous show in what is known as the best venue in the country for folk music? and did i mention FREE on the guest list??????????
