Hello from our sketch hotel in New Orleans with free wireless. Hey, it's a trade-off - sketchness or internet?

I think most of the people that are staying here with us are displaced folks who are living here. There was a letter at the front desk saying that they could only guarantee room service once a week. I'm not a paranoid person, really, but I think I'm going to hide the laptop somewhere. ;)

I was so out of it this morning- I forgot to turn my phone on!

Usually we bring a laptop on plane trips/vacations so we can watch DVDs if we want. :)

I have a little Yahtzee game on mine that is good for some time-wasting.

I need to have distractions around on trips because I go to bed later and wake up earlier than Jen, so I need something to do!

My hubby is the same way. I'm the early to bed in our relationship. He's always playing on the computer or x-box at home after "tucking" me in at night - at home and on the road!

oh gross! not only are you in the south, you're in my super extra least favorite part of the south! yeeeg!! i hope it all gets better for you soon. and for fuck's sake, next time you need a vaca, come to portland! it's fraking gorgeous and totally not the grimy south.

Okay, no joke, we actually looked into going to Portland for this weekend that we're here on vacation and it was way out of our price range. Which was a total bummer. And we didn't really know where to try to stay, and we'd have to rent a car, yadda. But we tried! (Also Seattle and Vancouver)

It was ridiculously cheap for both of us to come here (air + hotel). Now we know why! The hotel is worth every penny we are paying for it!

Overall, my first impressions concur with what you say. I'm not really jazzed (BAD PUN) about New Orleans.
