Love the pictures! What is a Riley's museum?

Ripley's Believe It Or Not? museum. They have them in a lot of touristy areas - I've seen them in New York City, in Gatlinburg, TN, etc. They're really overpriced and kind of dumb.

I <3 Cafe du Monde!!!!

Are you having fun?

Yeah, we are. Once we got over the initial shock of the kind of skeevy hotel, it's pretty cool. New Orleans isn't really my kind of place but it's nice to see new things and we're definitely enjoying the nice weather.

I really want to ride the streetcars but they're pretty much closed for the most part. Really modified runs. Sad.

Ditto. Cafe Du Monde rocks! It looks like a lot of businesses are boarded up still. Joel took me to NOLA for the first time in April of 2002. Absolutely fell in love with him there and with NOLA!

Yeah - all of the boarded up pictures are from Canal Street toward the outskirts of the French Quarter area... so it would make sense that they fix up the touristy stuff first and then do the rest. But yeah, a lot of things are closed and there are a lot of "For Sale" signs around. Bourbon Street is as open and dirty as ever, though.

New Orleans isn't really my kind of place, I don't think... but I am enjoying being away. :) (And so far no sign of O, which is good!)

Hope the "o" stays away while you're gone and that you enjoy the rest of your trip. I fell in love with the Garden District and wonder how that area held up. If you all have time you should check it out. We took a walking tour of the area and enjoyed it so much!

I had a little fertile quality CM this evening but so far I've still been reading Low on my monitor. Hopefully I can keep things low until I get home to my ultrasound! No temp shift, so that's good. I had a couple of sips of beer tonight but hopefully not enough to mess with temps and screw with me. :)

I also hope the Clomid isn't making my monitor not work!

We wanted to do a Garden District tour but I don't think we'll get to it this time around. We've done a ton of walking and My Jennifer's feet are starting to hurt.

When do you all get home? Can you go in right away and get inseminated?

I can't tell you how many Jackson Square photos we took that are similar to yours. Seeing them brings back some memories of our engagement trip.

And beignets....mmmmmm

Hooray for happy memories! :)

Beignets are delicious and I think I will have another before we leave. (I'm trying to eat less sweets and all of that.) I love fried things with sugar on top!

I want to take more photos of the beautiful buildings and all of that. I should get on that. I really want to take a Garden District tour but the streetcar isn't running out there right now and I don't know if I want to get on the bus. Dilemmas.

If you have room in your luggage, bring back a box of beignet mix. It's not the same as having someone else make them, but it's about as good as you're going to get in New England.

There's a chain of restaurants called Ralph & Kacoo's that my mom remembers as pretty good, but to be fair, it's been 20 years since she was in Louisiana.

We probably will buy a box of beignet mix just for fun, but we don't really have anything to fry them up in. (Maybe the wok?) Aah, well it would be a good experiment. YUM!

I haven't seen anything called Ralph & Kacoo's but I will keep my eyes open. We went to a place called "Gumbo Shop" yesterday.
