It's just hard to put so much hope into one little moment, you know? And it never ends. Today some people told me that the post-wash (pre-IUI) numbers we're getting on our donor sperm are /really/ low and we should be asking for our money back.

Hey, I've been meaning to ask you; since you purchase your sperm, do they analyze it for you again before the IUI, or do you just know its general fertile characteristics before you buy? They gave us an analysis of my husband's before we did the procedure. It mostly looked good but there were a few parameters where he was low or high. I wish everything had been ideal, but I am trying to think happy thoughts anyway!

They give us some basic numbers post-wash. This IUI and last time, too, our dude had 6 million sperm with 60% motility. I can't help but feel that's really low for the price, even though my doctor's office says 5mil is adequate. I'm going to call them tomorrow and inquire. They're website says they guarantee 15mil for ICI vials and 10mil for IUI vials. We bought ICI vials that my doctor's office washes, so there should be at least 7.5mil then (since you only use 0.5cc for an IUI), right?

So frustrating.

Last time we also got a number related to how many of the motile sperm were swimming straight, but we didn't get that number this time - just the 6/60.

Well see, that's different. YOU are a guy. A guy I know, that I like very much. This stuff is seriously just freeze-dried pellets that become liquified. There is no person involved. Not to me, anyway.
