Busy!

I am going to try to do the following "catch up" things this morning:
1. Laundry (nearly 2 weeks worth! Yikes!)
2. Put the million receipts in check book
3. Balance checkbook
4. Catch up on a week's worth of reading for school.
5. Birthday thank you notes.
6. Clean my messy apartment where Typhoon A. hit.

If my throat stops being sore and pressurey, I may go into work for a few hours. I'm really starting to feel the "not in the office" guilt, even though my boss has been REALLY good about it. It all depends whether I will go to this doctor's appointment today or not. I really should call work. Before they all go to staff meeting. [Check! Called. Got work. Staying home.]

But now, I will bag up the laundry. Yeah. [Done!]

Good. Because if there is one thing that I am REALLY REALLY good at it's worrying about friends.

Especially the cute ones.

Don't worry. I have no intentions of ever being that sick again. I was TERRIBLE at it. Princess was totally teasing me about it, about how hard it must have been for me to be so sick, and how I still managed to be all tough about it.

Hee. Worry away, cutie.

You're always tough.

It's one the the things I like best about you.

Though I would never change it for the world (because it's a part of me, and because I do it well and it does ME well), there are times when I can see my 'toughness' being a hinderance to getting my needs met. When I really need something (and this almost always plays itself out in an intimate capacity) and find myself completely unable (unwilling?) to ask for it.

Didn't we talk about how my trying to be all brave and strong caused similar problems for me?

I sometime mistake 'being brave and strong' for 'not letting things affect you at all'. Or so I've been told.

I often times doen't do brave and strong well. I tend to sometimes be a little like the rose in Le Petit Prince... 4 pathetic thorns which I believe can can fend off tigers.

Other times, I am so very Daniel Larusso. Maybe scared and hurt and whatever, but also brave, tough, collected, and (in the end) victorious.

I SO need a wise old Mr. Miyagi teach me balance. =)

Focus, Daniel-san.

You need to go to the coast and stand, one-legged, on partially submerged wooden poles and practice your crane technique.

And then when you come back, you can sand my deck and wax the cars.

...but the rose in Le Petit Prince had a friend who watched her, and who covered her in glass so the wind and other dangers of the world couldn't harm her, and he thought of her, and she was special to him, and that made her the strongest, most beautiful, most special rose in the universe.

And then in the sequel we can go to Okinawa. And you get to say "Don't know. Never been attack by tree." and "Best defense, no be there."

That would totally rock.

And that quote is just wonderful. I like it. Empowering. =)

Have you read the book? It's me. Honest.

(If you haven't, it's a short read, and I'll bring it next weekend.)

I had the weirdest dream last night, where I was a waitress in a restaurant and Pat Morita was there. I don't know what that means, but he ordered a rare cheeseburger.

Ha ha ha!

Well duh. =) Like that was ever in question.

But see, it's part of the whole 'someone you love' thing. Worrying comes with the territory.

*hugs*

Medical doctors who I have to pay a COPAY to, I've had enough of, thanks.
