Bizarro World

Today at the lunch table, one of my coworkers said that I go out of my way to wear shirts that show off my boobs. She was totally kidding, but heck, for ANYONE to say that about me? Weird. (What's weirder, I guess, is that I /do/ have a number of boob shirts these days.)
Also, it's supposed to be 100+° on Wednesday. I am mentally going down my list of clients for the day to think of who has air conditioning. Normally I hate air conditioning but dude, 103.
Speaking of air conditioning, we used our central air for 7-8 days TOPS last month and our bill was $155. It is normally about $45. This is sheer insanity. I imagine we will need to use it tomorrow and Wednesday (where it will run continuously, I'm sure), and we ran it while we were away in case it got too hot for the cats. I am scared of another big bill. Where on earth is this money supposed to come from? Aie.
We were supposed to close on Dad's house today. PSYCH! This is the house that will not go away. I am so glad I didn't end up cancelling everything and taking a day off to go down there. That would have been teh annoying.
Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides is a really good book! I have about 200 more pages to read before Book Club next Monday, but it is really enjoyable. Tonight, Coworker Kristine and I sat on the patio at The Clam Box on Wollaston Beach and read for a good long while. We each read about 100 pages. It was awesome - books on the beach at sunset!
I can't believe we might actually start TTC again in a couple of weeks. It seems like it's been so long since we've done anything, since we sat out the last two cycles and I have longish cycles. It doesn't seem real to go back to all of that.

Date: 2006-08-02 01:52 am (UTC)As for what's going on, not much is new. I work a lot, same old social work job. Jen and I are trying to have a baby. That's pretty time consuming. Not much time for anything else.
Stay in touch, girl! :)

Our electric bill last month was over $300. 1425 sq apartment, minimal light use, two computers and a fishtank drawing power other than base appliances. AC slays here but our nighttime lows are hovering around 80.
I will be so glad when I'm back in Colorado.
