Party on the left!
Oct. 10th, 2006 01:15 amI went in for bloodwork and ultrasound today. My right ovary is officially On Notice. There was nothing over there that wasn't a tiny, unmeasurable follicle. Ms. Lefty, however, was teeming with follicles - two 16mms, one 15mm, one 14mm, some 12s.
I thought they would send me home to do another dose of Follistim tonight and trigger tomorrow to get those 16s and 15 up a little higher, but instead I got a call to trigger tonight. I asked what my E2 was and they said that the bloodwork hadn't even come in yet and my doctor had made the decision anyway. I thought that was kind of weird.
I'm starting to think, though, that he was worried that if I triggered tomorrow, the 14 and the 12s might be in the running and then I might have too many mature follicles. They say that a follicle can be mature at 15mm in an injectibles cycle so that gives me three right off the bat, with a good chance the 14 perks up a little bit before ovulation. Like I said, party on the left! I wish I'd known my E2 level, though, because I'd like to know that it got up to 500 or so.
Oh well. I go in for IUIs tomorrow and Wednesday, CD11 and 12. This is officially the shortest cycle ever. Because Jen doesn't start her new job until Wednesday, she can come with me tomorrow... but I'm flying solo on Wednesday. Anyone want to come watch me get spermed up? ;)
I'm going in for one home visit tomorrow (at 4) and one Wednesday (at 2:30) followed by staff meeting. This is going to be a nice, short week. Whoo! Keep your fingers crossed for good numbers tomorrow from NewDude!

Date: 2006-10-10 05:42 pm (UTC)I am convinced that I didn't O this month or that it happened early (I had one day of light spotting a few days before I was "supposed to ovulate" and if that was the day I actually did O then it was 6 days before today's temp..) but Keith still has hopes that all our tries worked based on generic ovulation calendars that just count +14 days.
I am quickly learning all these words that you use and now I'm gonna be a pro.

Date: 2006-10-10 11:50 pm (UTC)Even if you ovulated early, your temp should still be elevated in your luteal phase (esp. 5 or 6 days in) - some people have an "implantation dip" if conception happened but I've never seen one that low. So I'm not sure what to say.
Those generic ovulation calendars don't really work unless you are one of those few women who have a 28 day cycle and ovulate right in the center on day 14. I would chart a cycle or two to really get to know your usual luteal phase length and stuff and then you will be in a better place to time intercourse.
p.s. I had NO IDEA you were trying to get knocked up!! :O TELL ME MORE (e-mail if you want privacy)!!
