Oh my god, I feel like the living dead today. I don't know if it's illness or baby-ness, but I seriously almost fell asleep in the middle of my toddler playgroup this morning. I laid down on the mats in the gross motor room and alllllmost dropped off.

Since I got home I've been essentially useless. Dear god... I have too much to do and I can't make Jen do it all! She is awesomely making dinner for us right now since she is the bestest. And since court for her was basically a wash today (Drunk Dude didn't show), she also repaired a couple of the screens, did some more packing, and generally was the best ever.

Is it bedtime yet?

Probably the baby-ness! Maybe you'll fall asleep and when you wake up, the move will be over?

Wow, that would be nice, wouldn't it? Except I don't know who would do all of the packing.

I bet it's the babyness. It's going to be extra hard-core for you because of the dos bambinos, I'm afraid. I actually considered sleeping in my car during the day for awhile. Glad Jen is taking good care of you. :)

Too bad Jen is headed back to Amherst this morning. :( But it was really nice having her here, especially last night because I couldn't move.

It needs to stop getting dark so frickin' early, because it's like my body shuts down as soon as the sun does. Dang, I need to pack up the kitchen and the guest room STAT!

Ha!

Usually I feel pretty okay. I mean, I might feel a little tired (like behind the eyes, you know?) but not in a non-functioning kind of way. Which is why I think some of this might be illness-related, because yesterday I just felt like straight-up lead.

I've heard the tired is worst during the first trimester. I hope it gets better soon. :-)

I decided to just read your journal instead of making you repeat back to me How You Are.

I see you're tired.

I found this little tidbit of information, and thought I'd pass it on to you:

In some ways, your pregnant body is working harder even when you're resting than a nonpregnant body is when mountain-climbing; you just can't see its efforts.

Of course, this doesn't explain your previous inability to sleep, but it sure sounds dramatic.

Can't we just be friends and get it over with? :)

I do like that quote. And if anyone knows pregnant, it's you. :) xoxo

btw, i've got a stack of baby and pregnancy magazines that i got from a freecycle lady, that i could send you but i thought maybe you already have a ton of that kind of stuff so maybe it's wouldn't be worth it and you're in the middle of moving so i would send it after that's over, in any case. but let me know if you're interested in them.

i read one surprising thing in the magazines about that pregnant women shoudn't drink tea, especially green tea, which i thought was counter intuitive but apparently the tea is not good for the spinal cord development. i'm not one to annoy people with unwanted baby/preg advice or anything, but since that particular factoid was quite surprising to me i thought i should let you know.

Thanks for the offer, but I don't want a stack of baby and pregnancy magazines. I don't get a ton of time to read and after packing up all of this crap, I really don't want to collect more stuff! :)

Well, I know that caffiene and pregnancy aren't the greatest combo except in small doses, and green tea has more caffiene than other teas. Also, the active ingredient in green tea reportedly interferes with your body's absorption of folate, which of course would be what would affect spinal cord and neural tube development.

I don't know you, but I just had to comment on what looks to be the longest sentence ever written (first paragraph).

:D
