Happy Thanksgiving, friends! I care less about the myth of Thanksgiving and more about celebrating family and good food.

And really, what better time to celebrate family and good food than when you're knocked up? MORE family and MORE food!

Oh yes, this is a Thanksgiving to remember. The cats have fleas, we'll have to wash everything again when it gets unpacked, the weather is dreary, the apartment is a disaster, I don't have a job anymore, and the bills are piling up, BUT the pumpkin chocolate chip breads are in the oven and smelling up the apartment deliciously, my beautiful wife is in the shower getting pretty for the feast, the spotting is currently all but nonexistent, and we're totally knocked up!

Enjoy the day, kids. Even you, [livejournal.com profile] lexanlet.

Curious Brit: what's the myth of Thanksgiving?

Well, the story that gets pumped into elementary school kids is that when the pilgrims and settlers came over to the "New World," (that's the US of A), after some battling with the Native people, they all sat together for a big fall harvest feast. Or some BS like that. Lots of pilgrims and Native Americans sitting around a picnic table with turkey and trimmings.

Because of course settling the US was JUST like that. ;)

And interestingly, the myth of Thabksgiving didn't really exist until the 1820s, and didn't become really popular in American culture until late in the 1800s.

How have you been feeling pregnancy wise besides the bleeding? You seem very secretive about it.

Secretive? Nah, there just hasn't been anything to say. I haven't really had any symptoms to speak of that I haven't mentioned (some sleepiness, some insomnia, some increased appetite, and of course the bleeding).
