Well, Operation: Back Door is coming into play, and no, it's not dirty so get your minds out of the gutter.

The four candidates for the PT job at the St0newall Center have been eliminated and my former boss has been granted permission by the personnel director to re-open the search for more candidates. More candidates means me, who missed the last round but is of course much better than the previous applicants because I Know People. Or something.

This is a huge relief, even though it is only 28.5 hours/week and not nearly enough money (I think about $3 less/hour than I am currently making). I'm going to start writing to the local Early Intervention programs to see if any of them need a part time person for 8ish hours/week fee-for-service. Hopefully one of them will say yes and I can bank some FFS money while I still feel good and am not huge or whatever, because I think in the long run when we get down to crunch time, it will probably be better for me to take a 3/4 time office job than a very active social work job - hopefully it means I'll be able to work longer and we'll have SOME money coming.

Hopefully it will help me weasel my way into the UMASS system so I can be a state employee forever and ever amen. My former boss had made mention that this Office Manager job /could/ become more next year but I haven't heard anything else about that yet.

This could really work.

Yay! Oh wow this could be so very perfect especially with 2 new members of the family on the way. If nothing else, state-funded academia has good benefits specifically including maternity leave!

I hope that's true even for folks in temporary job assignments!

woo for state employees! I've accidentally found myself in the social services field too and besides the bureaucratic stuff, it's a nice place to be. I'll cross my fingers for you and send some government love your way :)

Well, that's because the social services are awesome! :)

Thanks for the love.

Jude, my love, I need a pregnancy update. Well, I don't need one if you don't want to talk about it, obv, but it is the only reason I come to LJ anymore... Am I missing it somewhere? If so, I apologize for my gauchitude.

LOVE

There hasn't been an update because there isn't anything to update! Most of the time I'm just paranoid that I'm no longer pregnant. I've been spotting brown for two straight weeks now (and one day), I don't have morning sickness or anything like that, my boobs don't hurt and aren't any bigger, and I don't even feel that tired anymore.

I have a doctor's appointment with my new midwife on 12-12, and I don't think they know I've been spotting. (Whoops, I should have said something.) I am now taking a bazillion mgs of folic acid. Good times!

Also, I almost never have an appetite. But Jen thinks my belly is pooching out.

Oh, there's not much to the job. It's general office work mostly, I think a lot of the work is data entry'ing the whole library of books. Boss said that if it was me, there would be opportunities to do trainings on campus, but that it's a temporary office job first and foremost.

But it's nice to have prospects.

It just occurs to me that I know two lovely folk out there who are in the social services field themselves (and have an adorable little foster girl at the moment and were just married! Yay queer families!)

Anyway, if you would like, I'd be glad to forward your info on to them, or give you their emails, or something, for some possible networking? you can email me at this name @ gmail . com

And good luck - my partner volunteered way back when at the Stonewall Center, and it's a good place from what I've heard.

:)

Oh, that would be fabulous! I love networking! You can certainly pass around my e-mail (judecorp at gmail) to whomever you'd like. I trust you.

Thanks for the offer!

This is a temporary job, though, so I don't know if it comes with the same perks. I hope so!

Thanks for everything. I can't wait to see you when you're back in town. :) We can do something fun and catch up and NOT think about how I knew you when you were a little teenager!

Enjoy the rest of your stay in Denmark!

If you work 3/4 time at Stonewall, does that count as a Little Gay Job?

Or maybe a Bi Job?
