A little joy

We walked out of the house tonight to run some errands. When I shut the door I was blasted with that wonderful smell of wood smoke in the air.

And then I realized it was MY wood smoke from MY stove.

Aaah, that was nice.

It's awfully toasty in here. We kind of have been tending to do the furnace in the morning for the heat and turn the stove on at night. It will be interesting when we get the electric bill (the stove uses some electricity, supposedly not more than $9/week) and the gas bill to see what happens.

Someday you will have a house, too! I didn't think it would ever happen to me, and it's sad that my dad had to die to get it, but umm, thanks dad! (?)

i know! isn't wood smoke smell from your own chimney the best smell ever!?! i try to remember that every time i go out to split wood and want to put the axe through my leg instead :0


and plus it's (so far) way cheaper than turning up the heat!

Thankfully we have a pellet stove so we don't have to chop any wood. We just have to dump pellets out of the bag. (Of course that adds some expense but it has GOT to be cheaper than running the furnace all the time.)

Mmm, it smells so good.
