I have to go to work today. Weird. I haven't been at any kind of work in over a month. I have to take a shower and put on real clothes. Phooey!

Because I suck at writing New Year's Resolutions, you should all write them for me. Go ahead - it will keep me entertained as I slog through returning to the land of the working poor. Please. What should I resolve this year?

Be kind to yourself!

And, don't make any parenting absolutes, like "Our child will only eat organic apples and seaweed" or "Our child will never watch TV," because not making yourself live up to impossible absolutes is a gift. It's real and kind, and ends up teaching your child that the world requires flexibility.

Some parents-to-be gave me that advice when my child was 2. I was never that wise with a baby in my tummy.

Love it. And absolutes aren't a good example anyway -- better to teach kids to be mindful about TV and junk food, instead of forbidding it.

Your resolution should be to stress less and to be one of the most kick ass pregnant chicks and moms ever (along with Kieron of course!) Come on, inspire me! Show me how a true grrrl should be able to balance the whole baby-factory thing with a career and a life and still not be Donna God-Damned Reed.
