I don't know why, but I woke up this morning with an irrefutable feeling that we were having a boy.

I suppose I will either be right or wrong in exactly two weeks.

You know what? So did I.. Seriously.. Well, I didn't wake-up with that thought. But it did hit me yesterday while I was thinking about 1,001 things. "What would Jude do if she finds out she's having a boy?" was the thought that entered my mind.

i have heard that lesbian couples tend to have more boys...probably has something to do with inseminating right at the time of ovulation, as "boy" sperm swim faster and get to the egg first. i dont think any good research exsists on this, but the couples i know who did this do have more boys on average.

I haven't heard anything about insemination, but I've heard a similar thing about the length of the man's equipment having that similar effect. Longer means boy and shorter means girl. Has to do with the relative weight of the sperm (one chromosome is heavier than the other for some reason) and one gender are sprinters and die early while the other are slow but steady.

Well, if you have a life expectancy of 24 hours, you can move 18 inches in 24 hours, and you start out 20 inches away, you're gonna be in trouble. :)

No way, man. Fresh sperm can live in the woman's reproductive system for up to five days! This may be more than you wanted to know, but the sperm can hang out in the woman's fertile cervical mucus for nourishment and then when the cervix opens, they can rush on in!

But yes, once they get INSIDE, there is less of a lifespan. But I'm pretty sure most docs say 48.

I've also heard that fertility treatments (usually IUIs) also result in more boys (also because of the timing issue). But in general more girls are born than boys. Interesting.

Hmmm well, I had feelings with my kids and was wrong 2 out of 2 times. This one I keep feeling "girl" but who knows. I've got 7 weeks until we find out.

I had the same feeling that Maia was a boy and look how wrong I was! I thought Devin at first was a girl but later felt for sure boy.

I think you are having a girl because my theory is (the same theory I applied to myself) girls are stronger and since you had twins and one made it, the stronger one survived, ie the girl.

Oo, that's exciting. I wonder if you are right. I'm betting so. I put a lot of trust into gut feelings. I dreamed about my second child before I knew I was pregnant. I woke up and went, "huh, how weird. Who was that second child?" The next day the pregnancy test was positive.

A whole slew of my friends last year had girls, and this year people seem to be having boys. So we'll see.

but those teeny weeny peenies with those wrinkly little scrots? POOP TRAPS! it takes me like 5 minutes to clean enzo, whereas the girls took all of 30 seconds.

Yeah, totally. It is SO much harder to clean boy babies that girl babies in the poop department. It was a curse at work!
