Well hot damn, I won again. I find it amazing that I am perpetually able to choose the Superbowl winner year after year even though I don't follow a lick of football. I lost last year but that was the only time in our about 9 year history. I bet somewhere Guy is weeping.

I wasn't even expecting Indy to win. It wasn't a strategic choice (like I have a strategy), I just hate the Bears. What can I say? I am holding a 21 year grudge from Superbowl XX. Holy crap, that was 21 years ago. I am a freaking OLD PERSON.

I was 10 years old and it was the first and only Superbowl I watched until I started this Ratbutt mess. The Patriots were in the SB and my dad was soooooo excited, and we watched. And the Patriots lost to the Bears. And my dad lost a bet and that was sad.

i don't know what (or who) this ratbutt thing is? but i do understand having positive or negative feelings about something b/c it ties into childhood memories (ie: the tigers winning the world series in the 80's. so exciting! all of detroit was set on fire!). so i get it.

still not a clue about ratbutt...

I have a friend named Guy who is a HUGE football fan. He follows football in a major way, gets really into it, plays fantasy football, the whole shebang. He was mortified when we met and he learned that I had not watched a football game since SBXX.

It was his personal quest to get me into football. He did this by starting this fun little bet many years ago... that we would each pick a team for the Superbowl and the winner got to call the loser "Ratbutt" for a whole year. The first year he basically let me win by letting me pick the team that was almost guaranteed to win. Then we took turns picking. And I have won 8 out of 9 times.

Last year was the first year I was Ratbutt. And I knew Pittsburgh would win, but the Seahawks are my friend (and mortgage guy) Jeff's favorite team in the whole world and I picked them for him. And I lost. And for one year and one year only, I was the Ratbutt.

And now, I'm not.

hahahah... Superbowl XX... I remember that, as well as that horrible Superbowl Shuffle.

As for this year, I wish I lived closer too, but there was no HD game fo me. It was just grocery shopping, laundrey, Breakfast at Tiffany's and Arabesque for me tonight.

I'm older.

I went with my brother and "Mr Red" to New Hampshire to get beer. I went to a small Super Bowl party in someones basement. Drank with other underage minors and made out with the floozie who was "hosting".

I do remember the video's leading up to the game, and the game itself being an embarrassment.
