Three of my former coworkers took a little road trip out to visit us yesterday (Kelly, Funk, Marti Maraschino). It was very good to see them and we had a good time on a small budget. We got greasy diner food for lunch so I could fulfill my BLT fantasy (I guess it's one of the closest things I've had to a "craving" so far) and then came back to the house and played board games pretty much all afternoon. We thought about going out to dinner but decided instead to change into pajamas, bust out another game, and order pizza and salad. We managed to do a little Apples to Apples, Cranium, ImaginIff, and the new DVD version of Clue that Gina and Ben sent us for Christmas. After Jen went to bed, the four of us did this sort of question game that Kelly had until we got too tired. FUN.

Of course Marti remarked that she would have never known I was pregnant by looking at me. Urg. I was just starting to feel the pregnant vibe, too. Aah well. I guess that's more time I can rejoice in being comfortable and not needing to waddle. Right?

The girls left this morning and I am enjoying a lazy holiday at home. Presidents' Day is such a dumb holiday but I am not complaining. There is a Law and Order marathon on TNT, I finished the laundry, am still in pajamas, and have enjoyed some leftover pizza. Perhaps I will do some dishes and try to decide if we should have leftovers or something new for dinner. I'm guessing leftovers only because we have so much chicken parm that Jen made on Saturday and we still have quite a bit of pizza. The girls also brought over a bunch of chips for snacks and they freaking left them here, so now there are bad snackies here, too. I think I will go grab some baby carrots and resist!

Crap sleep last night. Fell asleep fine but the evil left buttcheek pain came back in full force. I need to figure something out else be doomed to bad sleep for the next five months. The only time I don't feel the butt pain is when I allow myself the privilege of sleeping on my back.

I have been sleeping exactly as you describe - with the pillow and the positioning and everything. It's not my hips/pelvis that hurt, it feels like a pulled muscle or pinched nerve in my left buttcheek going down to my left upper thigh.

I will ask about the back sleeping. I've always thought it was a no-no but if it's not, man, I'm going for it. I have always been a solid back sleeper.

I can't really sleep on my back, but I always start out that way with a pillow under my knees because of lower back pain.

You look really cute preggers. ;) I held a one week old baby yesterday and thought of you... :)

I was also thinking that your pain might be ultimately preparing you for those middle-of-the-night feedings...

Wish I had TNT...

*hugs*

I have always been a HUGE back-sleeper. Usually I would fall asleep flat on my back and stay in the exact same position for the next 7-8 hours... typically with a cat or two on top of me. So this has been a challenge.

I can't wait until we are holding our own baby and I can stop worrying about every little pregnant thing. (Then I will worry about other things, ha ha.)

Come over anytime and watch TNT.

i had lots of cravings for bacon when I was pg with dd..with this one, it's hot dogs. Go figure..in fact, I think I've just figured out what I'm having for lunch! I LOOOVE that Apples to Apples game! I'm getting the same thing about the pregnancy thing.. I'm 21 weeks and just don't seem to be doing much more than looking like I need to lay off the doritos (or hot dogs..maybe). This is Graceandmommy from FF btw..

Ha ha ha, I look like I need to lay off the BLTs! I don't really eat hot dogs (sometimes tofu dogs) but I really want to eat pizza all the time!

YUM!

I know it's annoying when you *want* to look pregnant and people remark you don't ... but trust me enjoy the time now because towards the end you will be waddling with all sorts of aches and pains.

You know, I am glad that I am comfortable and can sit any way that I want. And I like the amount of pregnant I look right now. I just want people to stop telling me I don't look pregnant. :)

You know what I've figured out ... people say the most annoying things to you no matter what you look like when you're pregnant. Must be those damn hormones that make us so angry!

Yeah, I can agree with that. Also the weird fact that people seem to think that someone's pregnancy is open season on saying any little thing that comes into your head!

Do you want the number of my chiropractor? He's super nice, and I'm pretty sure he's got other pregnant patients. He's also super honest, so if he doesn't think he can help you, he'll tell you.

Sure, you can e-mail it to me and I can see if he's covered by our health insurance. But I also need to look and see how much we have to pay for chiro stuff because we don't really have the extra cash.

Thanks!

A WHOLE afternoon/night of board games? I can't even begin to tell you how jealous I am.

As for looking pregnant, what if you got totally clubbed up/dressed up, or gussied up in athletic gear, or just stood by a bike and took a photo so that you could amaze people at how great you look for being 1/2 way there. Right?

I guess you could get announcement shirts, like Baby on Board or one of those shirts with a picture of bun in a oven. - I mean, you are so close to popping you would only need to wear it for two weeks tops.

You should come over and play board games. I love board games but I don't like playing with just two people!

Ha ha ha about your photo shoot idea. That is awesome. So cute!

Ditto the comment up above about the chiropractor. I see someone who is trained and experience in treating pregnant women (important IMHO) and it has made a HUGE difference. Trust me, if you have bad butt pain at this point it is only going to get worse and worse as the pregnancy progresses so now is the time to start doing something about it. Mine started right around 20 weeks too and the chiro plus some massage every now and then has really helped. I see the chiro more often though b/c it's better covered by my insurance.

Yeah - we are looking into what insurance will pay for chiropractic stuff and if it is something we will swing, I will look for one. I am not opposed to the idea, just financially.

Now if we could just con Jen into giving me massages every night...
