Tonight's American Idol totally sucks. Seriously. These people are the best in the country? *weeps*

I sent Jen to bed at 8:30pm because she kept snoring. Maybe I should have left her on the couch, because the snoring would have been better than this "singing."

I can't wait to see what [livejournal.com profile] drainbead has to say.

But I can't wait to see that hip-hop documentary on PBS at 10! Can't wait!

Ummm, AND American Idol kept the only show that I watch weekly (House) off the air tonight. If I didn't hate American Idol enough already, this was the final straw. Gah!

Yeah, it bumps House quite a bit, sadly.

I liked Blake (the beat boxer) and the Justin Timberlake look a like. Other then those two major suckage.

Now see, I would have liked the Justin Timberlake look-a-like better if he wasn't so dang obvious at trying to look like Justin Timberlake. I mean, with the suit? Kid, get your own identity.

Overall I just thought it was horrid. There were a few okay parts in there but I almost wished I hadn't watched.

Tonight will be so much better I hope. I generally like the girls better at first anyway. They seem to have a bit more style and they seemed better to me than the guys anyway. We'll see!

We might be going to an event tonight in which case we would miss the girls. But if it's anything like last night we won't be missing anything!

Well I will be watching, all 2 hours, so I hope it's worth it. I'll fill ya in if you don't get to watch.

Those were my faves last night too. The last guy, the one who missed his baby's birth, I liked him in Hollywood week. REALLY liked him. But last night he sucked. Seriously, why does it feel like I'm watching a show from the 70s? Can't these people find ANY current music to showcase their talents? I can't judge them based on music that is so old, or that I never cared for anyway. Hooray for Blake and Chris R. [I think he's going by Christopher though - I had to look on the Idol webpage] for doing that! I have high hopes for the Asian guy to go far. He won't win but I think he's cool in a different way. Everyone else is old news. Sundance Head? suckage major!

Oh my god, I /hate/ Sundance Head and was SO ANGRY that he even made it to TV. I want to yank him around by his stupid-looking goatee and throw him out the door.

Wow - where does this aggression come from? I just don't like him at ALL.

They made a big mistake for sure. The other guy that it came down to was way better.

My mom is working with a group of kids at her school on a hip hop project. Yeah, my mom. Hehe. Anyway, I sent her the link and she was jazzed. Also hehe. Regardless, it wasn't on here last night at ten, but I hope she can find it for them. They are studying its history, etc. I love that she takes what the kids like and turns it into such a learning experience. But, she's my mom. I think she's cool. SO, thanks for the heads up.

And yeah. Suckage on the AI. Liked Chris Sligh for the cut he gave to Simon about the teletubbies (did you know that was Simon's idea/project????) and loved Blake. I liked his confidence and strategy to show his singing talent. I can see him going FAR.

We'll see how tonight goes. I do wonder how in the hell they rationalize who they pick for the final 24. There were so many better contestants in Hollywood. Weird. OK, xoxo.

Your mom is so awesome, I just love her. I hope she is able to find the documentary out near you because it was good and not too long (an hour). It really tied in the hyper-masculinity of hip hop and the messages it sends to youth, especially African-American male youth. So good!

Yeah, I don't know the rationale of the Top 24. I think this year they were really looking at having more of an ethnically diverse 24 this time than the other times so I think some people got in that weren't as good as some others. However, I do like seeing more variety on the show. I hope they were just nervous because otherwise this will be a LOOOONG show. :)

Yeah, Chris Sligh is pretty funny but I worry that too much mocking of Simon early on will hurt his chances later - because the judges do impact voting. But yeah, I had no idea Simon was behind the Teletubbies. Very educational!
