Conferencing

Jen and I have been taking in workshops at the Reproductive Rights and Social Justice conference at Hampshire College. (I think that's the name, anyway. You get the idea.) It has been interesting and informative and stimulating but it makes us feel SO OLD. I would say 90% of the participants are college undergraduates. As in 21 and under. As in we've got at least 10 years on 'em. They're cute.

We left a bit early today because I had been having a really bizarre ache/pain in my side most of the afternoon that I /think/ is because Frank was in a weird position stuffed way over by my right hip bone. Either way, it hasn't bothered me in several hours and I am inclined not to worry about it.

Before conferencing today we hit the thrift store where I scored the cutest newborn sun hat (a necessity for a July baby) for 49 cents and a pair of nice, nearly-new maternity jeans from Old Navy for $5! Sweet!

Here's keeping my fingers crossed for no more mysterious pains!

I have had RLP on and off during this pregnancy but this was a definitely different feeling altogether. I know RLP can come in different forms so it is a distinct possibility, but judging by the way the kid's head (or butt? something big and hard) was pressing into my right hip bone waaaaaay over to the side I'm more inclined to think it was from that. Especially because it was more of a dull ache annoyance than a sharp pain or pulled muscle feeling.

i helped make baked goods for the Smith groups SSJC and VOX that were at the conference. hope you enjoyed them!

i'm down. i've got a presentation on wednesday night and a paper due friday, with a regatta in worcester on saturday...... anything between that would be superb!

Ooh, a regatta - I'm jealous! Sadly I will be in Worcester on Sunday for a little Easter Dinner Family Action, not on Saturday for Hot Crew Action.

If you were a Survivor watcher, I would suggest a tee vee date on Thursday, but you'll probably also be writing that paper. Are you doing anything Friday evening? I would understand if you have plans or whatever but if you're worried about getting sleep before the regatta, I remind you that I am OLD.
