Today promises to be a FUN day at work.

Coworker Morgan's car is in New Hampshire being repaired. He had no way to get back up there to get it (barring the bus) and we need his car/truck/jeep/whatever tomorrow to tug the work float in the Pride parade. So it is now "work-related" that I drive Morgan up to NH to fetch his car. And Jen is going to leave work early and come with us! And Morgan assures me that there is an Olive Garden up there!

(Okay, shut up about my fascination with Olive Garden. There are like NO Olive Gardens in Boston and it is one of the few chain places that I actually LIKE, if only for their delicious salad dressing. And let me tell you, this baby LOVES italian dressing.)

I mean, it's Friday, it's supposed to be nice, and I'm taking a road trip with two of my favorite people in the area on company time, and THEN eating the "poor kids' special."

YOM.

You sound almost surprised that there would be an Olive Garden in New Hampshire. What? They have indoor plumbing AND and Olive Garden? ;-P~

As for Boston area / MA Olive Gardens...there's one in Natick (next to Shopper's World) and one in Marlboro (next to Solomon Pond Mall). So the next time you get one of those weird, knocked-up cravings you know where to take a trip to. ;-P~

Ha ha ha, reading back, I can see where I used poor wording. I didn't mean that I expected NH to NOT have things like restaurants... moreso that Morgan was using Olive Garden to entice me to go to NH because he hears me whine all the time.

There is a nearish Olive Garden here, in Enfield CT I think, but it just seems so FAR. Ditto for Natick and Marlboro when I was in Dooster. I mean, to drive all that way for a chain restaurant? But aha - this one will be within my reach!!

I so share your love for the Garden of Olives! I crave their salad dressing on a regular basis, and I'm always so frustrated by how far away all the nearest ones are... (though I'm excited to find they have one in Natick! WooHoo!)

Enjoy the "work-related" trip, and perhaps I'll see you at Pride tomorrow! We're making the trek out for it tonight, we used to ride in it but now with the kiddo, we're on the sidelines, cheering the rest of you on... :) (We'll be the ones with the kiddo in the "Queer Spawn" onesie!!)

I am so glad that there are other OG lovers out there! Their salad dressing is AWESOME.

I will be bopping in and out of Pride. I have to ride in the parade for work, but then at some point need to duck out to attend a friend's baby shower, then hopefully be back for some festivities (but I'm not sure).

I will try to wave your way. We should at least meet up and say hi!

I am anti-chain restaurant, but I looooove Olive Garden. Truth be told, I haven't been to one in at least eight years but every once in awhile, I start dreaming about the unlimited salad and bread combo. I've always been sad that there isn't one around here anywhere.

Is it pathetic and sad that it makes me feel better that YOU like the O-G, too? I mean, you share my love for the non-chain but even you cannot resist its powers of unlimited salad and breadsticks. I shall think of you when I partake.

Apparently you can drive to Natick to get your fix, but that seems awfully far.

Amen to that.

We need to plan a field trip to Natick or something.

Andrea and I used to LOVE Olive Garden but then they took all our favorite things off the menu!

especially their really big, textured crumbly cheesecake that was coated with ganache and looked like one of those big old fashioned "wheels" of cheese with the ganache looking like one of those wax cheese wrappers on the wheel. i have never forgiven them for getting rid of that items.

also, in a previous existence, Jade and I had a very hysterical Olive Garden outing in Syracuse.

I don't even know what's on their menu because I've always just eaten soup, salad and breadsticks. What? They have other food? Interesting!!

I don't usually order dessert out except at special occasions or at the Cheesecake Factory. Mmmm, cheesecake.

Poor kids special? Is that the endless salad and breadsticks special? I've only been to olive garden once.

Yes, that is exactly what I mean. I haven't been to an Olive Garden in about 4-5 years probably, so I am especially excited!!

If you're going to the OG in Manchester, they can be very busy and very slow. You might want to get their phone number and call ahead and get your name on a list.

Friday night, you might be waiting quite a while for a table.

We went to the OG in Keene... and we got there at about 4pm so we didn't have to worry about a rush or anything. We ate at a nice leisurely pace. YAY!

Thanks for the tip!

I heart olive garden, too. For the soup and salad and the breadsticks. Not to mention that Ella loves their mac and cheese, because they're the little shells. And I heart their lemon cream cake. It's fab. I always get it to go and then have it at home later.

Mmmmm. I wish I had enough points for lemon cream cake now. sigh

I don't know what they put on their breadsticks but they must be coated in crack. SO GOOD, and I don't even really like bread!

I saw the lemon cream cake on the menu and thought of you. xoxo

Woo hoo road trip!

My local Olive Garden is 2.5 miles away, straight down the major north-south road bordering our block. When we got married by the justice of the peace, the ceremony before ours was our favorite server there! When we visit now, we ask if she's working so we can say hi and leave her a tip. (:

Oh, fun! Our nearest OG is in northern Connecticut, which isn't that far at all but how often do you want to go drive out to a chain restaurant. It would be cool if one were closer - instead, the close chains are Applebee's and Chili's and I am not really into those.

Olive Gardennnnn.... *drools* Their salads are so damn good! So are their virgin strawberry daquiris. Really. They are yummy, you should have one.:D (I went up there on a Chorus trip in 10th grade, and got one. It was sooooo gooooood.) I'm obsessed with Arbys. We don't have one in Oxford, but they are very yummy.:D

I am usually a strict water drinker, but now that you mention it, a virgin froo-froo drink sounds super yummy! :)

I don't like Arby's at all. Partially because I don't eat beef, and partially because when I was in college a couple of boys who lived next door to me in the dorms used to say that roast beef looked like vaginas. I don't know WHERE they got their knowledge of vaginas (they were gay) but ever since then I can't even LOOK at an Arby's ad!!

A virgin frou frou drink is yummy.:D *lol* I've never thought that roast beef looks like vaginas! That's funny! Well, we did go, but really, I could'nt pass it up. And they have ham too. Their ham sandwiches are good. If you like ham, of course.

I love ham, but only baked ham. Like on a big Easter dinner.

Oh... baked ham... omg. It's the best! (Of course, for easter, we usually do something more casual, but we do have ham for Christmas, and sometimes Thanksgiving. My family's not big turkey eaters...)

We always have turkey on Thanksgiving and ham on Easter. My uncle now makes the dinners instead of my grandparents and he is trying to shake things up. He had this big beef dish for Christmas which made me SO sad because I hate beef. I made him make me a chicken breast.

Hey... Chicken on Christmas doesn't sound bad! I could'nt even half enjoy the food this past Christmas, because of the morning sickness. It was in full swing then. I had to carry food home, and just kinda nibble during the day.

Ha ha, I had no morning sickness! :)

:P Heifer. I had morning sickness, and the past couple of days I've been having swelling feet that is'nt going away. In fact, it's getting kinda painful. I had an appointment today, BUT... the ob got called into a surgery right before my appointment. So I get to see him next Monday. I'm going to call tomorrow if it's not any better.

Thanks.:) It's getting better, little by little. Around my toes it'll go numb, but then I kinda... bounce on them a bit or walk around more and it goes away. I don't know what was up with them on Monday. They're still chubby enough that I can't fit in most of my shoes though. Should make work today quite... interesting. Because I'm going to wear what I CAN, even if they are open heeled shoes.
