Virtual Baby Shower!

TALK ABOUT A BIG SURPRISE!!

Today we got a big box in the mail from mollysummer72 that was completely and totally unexpected. Inside the box was a card that said that it was a Virtual Shower, and that we should crank the music and eat junk food.

Inside the box were tons and tons of goodies that will be very useful. She was so thoughtful and awesome about everything - lots of things were wrapped up in little packages so it really WAS like having a virtual shower. We had fun opening up and posing with some of the goodies.

I know I said this a couple of times already, but Jen and I really were blown away by the surprise and the generosity and the just plain NICENESS of the whole thing. Keep in mind, people, that mollysummer72 just had a baby of her own (#3 for her) a couple of weeks ago!! Holy cow!!

I don't think they make enough thank you cards for me to be able to effectively show people how much it means to me that they love us and our baby and want to spoil all of us with their kindness. It really is a truly amazing feeling.

There was so much cute stuff in there! It was just a happy little assortment, which is fun. And sweet that there was some "grown-up" stuff in there - sent from a true mama!

A question, though - did you make the jewelry? It's awfully pretty.

I'm going to have to find something super fun for Baby J and Toddler A!

no, I didn't make the jewelry- I did some web work for the designer, who is local to my town. Pretty, isnt it?

No need to reciprocate- just pay it forward, and all that, if you know anyone who needs cheering up, etc. ;)

Oh, I'm sure the pictures from my baby shower will have quite a few cheesy grins. Hubby says I looked so funny up there... and quite a bit overwhelmed. (I was! I'm not used to people being so nice, and having all the attention on *me*!!)

Oh yeah, that whole "opening presents in front of an audience" thing really freaks me out. It's so... I don't even know. But overwhelming sure does describe it!

That was the good thing about a Virtual Baby Shower - no audience! :)

:) Yes. That... is more my speed. All the presents kinda made it feel like Christmas. Haha. And I have yet another shower next Sunday. *lol* (I did'nt ask for all these showers! But I love the people who are throwing them for me, so I can't turn them down! Plus, we may get more diapers...)

Oh, and for our wedding, the church we had the wedding at (Rob's grandma's church), gave us a basket shower. Basically filled a laundry basket with stuff and gave that to us. I thought it was cool.

Well, most of the stuff in the box was not baby clothes, thankfully. Especially not newborn baby clothes, of which we have QUITE a bit.

But yeah, we've been very lucky in the hand-me-down department, and I imagine it will only get better as we continue to walk in gala's and lorac's footsteps.
