Our day of doing nothing was a complete success. I didn't take a shower until after 4pm. I got up at 8:30, ate breakfast, then got back into bed with Jen for a while. Then we sat around like sloths and watched some television - we caught the two episodes of "Top Chef" that we missed. Jen made me lunch, and we sat around some more, then did some more nothing.

Eventually we took showers, got some dinner, and went to the movies. We sneaked DQ Blizzards into the theatre - awesome. We saw Knocked Up. It wasn't as terrible as it could have been. Although some air conditioning would have been nice.

I don't know why I let Jen talk me into going to Chili's for dinner. I freaking hate the food at Chili's. Oh well. Half of the big Jehovah's Witness convention was there for dinner and the place was PACKED.

Also, people apparently love to stare at you when you dare to go out in public with a big, round belly. Or maybe just when you walk around like big old queers? I don't know.

The end.

Oh yeah, Top Chef is awesome. We were a little behind on the Top Chef bandwagon and didn't start watching until last season. Thankfully Bravo likes to re-run everything to death, so we were able to catch up on all of it. :)

yeah, we didnt begin watching until the middle of last season, and then we caught up on a marathon day, and then they ran season 1 on a marathon. lol
we tend to be all about the marathons, whether on tv or dvd. its much better than waiting all season. LOL. except for hbo and sho series, i watch them every week..

Oh yeah, I'm a huge fan of the marathons. Although if you DO catch one, you have to pretty much bank on getting NOTHING done that day. :)

I ate at Chili's with friends who LOVE it today too. I hate it. What did you have? I had the grilled chicken and honey mustard sandwhich. Not too bad, but I've had way better.

I love lazy Saturday's.

I had what I think was called the "Quesadilla Explosion" Salad, under the guise that maybe it would have some vegetables in it. Wrong-o! It was basically grilled chicken smothered in cheese and ranch sauce over a bunch of taco-toppings (pico de gallo, corn stuff, tons of cheese, tortilla strips). Oh, and a little bit of iceberg lettuce. With quesadilla quarters all around.

It was the least healthy salad I had ever seen, and what I really wanted were some vegetables. There are NO vegetables at Chili's!

One of the girls I was with ordered the tilapia and she got broccoli with hers. But you're probably right, that was likely all there was. Oh wait, we walked past someone who had a corn on the cob.

I never eat there on by my own will. So many other great places in town. I tagged along with friends who LOVE it - probably because they don't have one in Canada and they've yet to try anything else we offer here! LOL

Yeah, my aunt loves Chili's too. I don't understand it. I wonder if it's because she's scared of mexican food? I don't know. But she loves it there.

Everything I've ever gotten there has disappointed me. I try not to order their entrees because it seems ridiculous to pay $15 for crappily-cooked food. So I stick to sandwiches and salads... although I think now I will stick to sandwiches.

I just wanted something green and leafy.

Yeah, if I want mexican, we have several other yummy places to choose from. Olive Garden [my fave] has green and leafy AND yummy. :)

We have a bunch of local, non-chain places around that make REALLY good salads. I guess I should stick to those... but Chili's was next to the movie theatre. Conspiracy.

I like OG, too. But just their soup, salad, and breadstick lunch. I've never had their actual food.

I use to waitress there so I've tried all kinds of things and enjoy most of them if you're in the mood to be SO FULL. I usually go for S.S.&B. too because I can eat that and get so full so fast. If I order a meal, I usually split with Hannah because it's too much food. But I enjoy that really stuffed feeling - it's just so bad for me.

Oh yeah, I know what you mean. It feels satisfying in a sick way to have that sleepy, stuffed feeling.

I'm pretty sure they, like many US presidential administrations, consider ketchup a vegetable.

I suppose calling the restaurant "Carbs and meat" while honest would not be good for business.

You know who would love Knocked Up? Marc. For real, he would laugh and laugh and laugh.

I thought that parts of it were REALLY really funny, but there was a lot of pot-humor and stuff that I just couldn't get into, since I was never a stoner or whatever, and a lot of "guy jokes."

It was actually a pretty cute movie, though. It could have been a LOT worse. It wasn't as funny as, say, The 40-Year-Old Virgin, though.

Chili's is nasty.

I think a little bit of both.

I got QUITE a bit of attention at the Pride Picnic last Saturday. Of course, I almost disappointed inquiring parties when I admitted my spouse was male. :(

Oh yeah, I think people love the pregnant queers at Pride. Or at least, the people who want kids or have kids. (Other people might not be so excited.)

I used to drag my ex-husband to Pride stuff, it was a good time.

From: [identity profile] chibi-jeni.livejournal.com
LOL! I didn't have to drag him. He kind of crashed my party, though. :P It's nice that he wants to be involved, but I was told by at least two gay friends of mine that he was "scary". haha!! I'm just glad he's supportive.

My ex was super popular in gay crowds. He was really young looking with a baby face, kind of looked like a little blonde teenager. They were ALLLL over him. (I think he kind of liked it, though.)

hehe!! My poor husband wants to fit in, but for some reason he exudes such manliness that even the leather boys look at him with a cocked eyebrow of confusion. LOL!

Well, a lot of kids like to stare, and that's okay - they're kids. But the looks ARE starting. It's kind of fun, I guess, but I guess I never realized before. I don't know if I go around staring at pregnant people. Maybe I do?

You should pop! That would be fun!

I heart Top Chef. It's an awesome show. Has the third season started already?

And I was actually a waitress at Chili's once upon a time. Please don't hold it against me.

Apparently the third season started right under our noses. There has been one episode. I'm sure it will run again (and again and again). I don't know when the originals run. Monday nights? No idea.

I will still love you even if you worked at Chili's. It's not your fault that it is basically impossible to find a healthy meal there.

Ok, so I guess I'm your only friend who loves Chilis. My mom and brother love it too, so if we're all in Jersey, we'll usually have lunch there. I just don't go there for the salads, what can I say? I'm a chicken crisper fan all the way.

It's okay to love Chili's. I still love you. Like I said, I have family members who love Chili's too. :)

I like those chicken fingers at Applebee's. It's the ONLY thing I like at Applebee's, and it's so bad for you and makes me feel so sick after, but tastes SOOOOO good!

From: [identity profile] cappucinogrrl.livejournal.com
See, I'm just not an Applebee's fan, really. My friends and I sometimes go there after 10 for the half-priced appetizers, but that's it. I'll be sure to try the chicken fingers if I ever eat a real meal there.

Well, I wouldn't call it a "meal." But it IS tasty!

I think we like Chili's -- we have only been there once but we were nothing but impressed. IT's only fair though, because we hate the Olive Garden. ;)

Oh... funny thing... they're redoing the bathrooms in the back at work (have been for a month? WTF?) and as I was walking back to get some paperwork signed, every single construction worker stopped what they were doing, and STARED at me. I have no idea why? I didn't even notice, hubby told me when I came back out. *lol*

Ugh, that's just weird. When people stare it makes me nervous.

Me too. I didn't even notice though. It makes me glad I'm not working there at the moment, though... *shudders*
