V8 Fusion

I just went grocery shopping. Oof, lugging all that crap in by myself SUCKS. Especially when you've got three 2 litres of seltzer, a 12 pack of seltzer, two bottles of apple juice for Jen, orange juice, a gallon of milk...

But V8 Fusion was on sale. You know, that fruit juice that claims to have a full serving of vegetables or whatever. I don't usually drink juice (too sweet for me) but I also don't tend to eat a lot of vegetables. So whatever, I thought I would try it.

It is INCREDIBLY sweet. I diluted it half and half (I tend to dilute my juice more than that, actually. When I drink apple juice I put in about 25% apple juice and 75% water.) because I wanted to actually get SOME of this Hot Vegetable Action, and it's... okay. Too sweet.

But hey, vegetables!

Of the 4 flavors of V8 Fusion, there's only one that I can drink uncut (the rest are just too sweet). But the veggie fact is true! Beet juice and carrot juice, gag-free!

Which one do you find is less sweet? I have strawberry banana here, and it is sticky sweet for me.

I guess I like sweet stuff because I love that v8 fusion (never drink it though, too expensive). Can't stand straight up v8 though.

V8 Fusion was on sale at the store yesterday. It was totally an impulse buy, I admit it.

V8, however, is the NASTIEST thing ever invented. The whole idea of tomato juice makes me want to make a lot of ugly faces.

I'll have to try it, assuming V8 is ever cheaper than canned Tomato soup.

You've given me an idea though. V8 Fusion Ice Cream or Sorbet would make a good Baitcon flavor.

I'll refrain from mentioning any of the other odd flavors.

It's not all strange. For example, there's a guy constantly trying to create the perfect vanilla. Basil makes a light, refreshing spring flavor. At the last Baitcon Whuffle got a lot of congratulations for a spicy Strawberry based Sorbet.

I'm a little scared of this Ice Cream con. Because I'm suspect of "odd foods." I am not daring with food.

Well, the ice cream is just one of the many things that happen at the event. It's a fun, geeky camping trip, and the ice cream sort of grew out of that.

bolthouse farms sells a juice called "green goodness" that is chock full of veggie-goodness, and isn't as overly sweet. it tastes awesome though. you just have to get over the green look of it.

since greta only eats one veggie (orange bell peppers), i mix it with oj and give it to her in a sippy. :)

I actually love the V8 Fruision stuff.. well... I can't eat super sweet things now, or drink them... so it's kinda ew now, but before.... I loved it. I like the apple juice from WIC. It's not terribly sweet, but it's good.

It's too sweet for me sometimes, but the wic apple is concentrate anyways, I just put more water in it than the directions say.

Oh, that's a good idea. Concentrated juices are really good for that. :)

When we applied, I was surprised we qualified. We were both working, and making pretty decent money... I don't know.

But yeah... the concentrate is great.:) Of course, hubby's always like "It's not sweet enough!" I just tell him "The juice is for me!:P" (and make him tea or something) Hey... I just thought about it... Lemonade! or Limeade! That stuff is definately not too sweet! Well... mine probably would be for you, but I also make it stronger than most people do. Yummy.:)
