I have been taking the same stinking prenatal vitamins since we started TTC, which was a long time ago. It works, it doesn't bother my stomach, it doesn't smell bad, and it's cheap.

I have spent the whole month trying to refill my prescription, which has been on back order for apparently the last million years. I have now been given every last pill in the pharmacy, and there is no sign of a shipment, and they believe it's been discontinued. They suggested that I call my doctor's office and have them call in a different vitamin so I can avoid the hassle.

I called CVS this morning just to make sure it had been called in (I'm out of magic pills) and the pharmacist just told me that they called in some ridiculously expensive brand name vitamin that has a copay of $30! Okay, that's highway robbery - my last vitamin was $8.

The pharmacist was super nice, though, and said he would call the doctor office to see if they would switch to a cheaper vitamin. Gosh, I hope so. I just wish I could get my OLD vitamins, dang it!!!

Grr.

Yeah, I had them call the other CVSes. Apparently it wasn't a very popular vitamin that I was taking, which I guess is why the manufacturer has stopped making it.

Nice of them to let people know, hunh?

I've heard that. But it's a PITA to get to Target, and the pharmacy's right down the road! HA HA.

You know, I don't like Flintstones. I don't like the way they get stuck in my teeth!

Becca's had good luck with the Prenatals from Puritan's Pride. Her doctor had her on prenatals ever since her gastric bypass surgery for some reason. She's always had to switch brands every 2 months or so because they'd start to upset her tummy. But she's been taking the Puritan brand for over a year now with no problems. (And they're CHEAP!)
If you want to check them out clicky clicky

Thanks for the link! The pharmacist was able to score me a generic vitamin that is even cheaper than my last vitamin, which is sweet. They're weird, though, they have a RIDICULOUS amount of Vitamin A. Why?

What's the difference between prescription prenatals and non-prescription anyway? For Greg I chewed on 2 flintstone vitamins (or a generic one). This time I found some prenatal vitamins on clearance so I stocked up on those.

There's no difference, although some of the store brands cost more than the generic prescriptions. (I know Centrum makes a prenatal and it is pricey, but the store brands are cheaper.)

Different vitamin brands have different amounts of different vitamins, pretty much. That's all.

I rock out with 2 Flintstone's sometimes. Other times I take some expensive ones I got at Whole Foods. I like my Flintstone's, except for the purple. Seriously, lose the purple, people! Eater. Sorry, had to.
