I think it's interesting that once you finally get a good thing going with your kid, it's time to start thinking about going back to work. It's unfair! It's like I was in the trenches for the reflux days, the refusing to sleep days, the unable to take the baby out of the house days, the force-feeding the baby every two hours because she is so small and lethargic days... and now she's kind of like this happy little being in her zen routine, and I'm thinking of screwing it up with childcare? What am I, nuts? I need to be independently wealthy.

Last night, Jen put the baby monitor on her side of the bed. We had talked about this last night and she did it. And it was aMAZing. I actually got some sleep! I woke up with the baby at 12:30am or so, but Jen says she woke up a couple of times around 5 and I missed it. I didn't have to hear it, wake Jen up, listen to whatever they were doing on the monitor, and then try to go back to sleep. SO AWESOME.

It was also our Monday Coffee Date with some other mamas and babies and that is always a great day because a good chunk of the day goes by without me having to entertain the Punk in the house. I can't wait until the weather is better. We may potentially be going to a play date on Wednesday, and then I am going to drive out to my old job in Boston on Friday to eat lunch with the girls, so this is a pretty busy week.

Over the weekend we were in RI for my grandfather's 90th birthday party, and of course it was an overstimulating mess and Punk wouldn't eat or nap and she was a Psycho Shrieker Baby. Since my family never comes here and sees her in her Zen Palace, I think they think we have the craziest baby ever. However, today in our Zen Palace we had a nice 7am bottle, a little early AM nap, a trip to the coffee shop (where she did get shrieky but oh well, and drank her whole bottle), some errands (post office, town municipal building to drop off the census, RMV to drop off voter cards), some groovy time in the exersaucer, some cereal and applesauce and a bottle at 1, and she's now been napping for about an hour 15. I mean, really. Does it get better than this? I don't want to send my Zen Baby to child care!!!

Punk went to church again yesterday. I like bringing her and having everyone go together. It was Communion Sunday, though, which makes for a longer service and after the usual hour, she was DONE. So maybe no more Communion Sundays for a little while.

That's about it over here. Whee!

We keep the baby moniter so loud that her own amplified gurgles startle her despite being across the hall, behind a closed door and around the corner.

We've had to back off a notch though, as her breathing kept us awake.

Woah, that's intense! We keep ours down because otherwise the humidifier in there sounds like a freight train.
