Jan. 11th, 2008 09:43 pmEvery so often I would really like:
1. A baby that likes to be cuddled instead of writhing away from being held
2. A spouse who can actually lay in bed with you when you're crying and sad without suddenly falling asleep and starting to snore.

Date: 2008-01-12 02:55 am (UTC)It has gotten so bad that I can't even hold her close and feed her anymore... the past couple of days I have had to swaddle her to give her a bottle or take her into a pitch black room.
Is that normal?

Date: 2008-01-12 03:21 am (UTC)2) I'm really sorry to hear that. That's not too much to expect in any way shape or form.

Date: 2008-01-12 03:43 am (UTC)I know how that feels...sometimes you don't know exactly what you want except for someone to sort of stay up with you.
Hopefully you'll feel better in the morning.

Date: 2008-01-12 04:16 am (UTC)It's probably my least favorite thing ever in the history of least favorite things. I think I'm worth staying awake for, especially at 9pm.

Date: 2008-01-12 04:34 am (UTC)Hey, I can relate with #1 - Rio has always been such a high-strung baby (always on the go-go-go!) - there's never been much cuddling... I wish there was!
By the way - the other night - my baby's sleep was terrible! ugh! woke up about 4 times... I was delirious the next day... will these sleepless nights EVER end?

Date: 2008-01-12 10:40 am (UTC)((hugs)) I throw tantrums about it. That is probably not worth it though.
Re: a not so snuggly baby - this can be totally normal. It is just a temperament thing.

Date: 2008-01-14 08:32 pm (UTC)Kids change SO MUCH in the first few years. Ours went from so-easy-we-had-to-check-her-breathing-sometimes to downright ornery to very reticent about shows of affection to affectionate (at least for right now). It's such a crazy puzzle... and yet you love them no matter how difficult they're being.
I wish that your J could snap to and just envelop you in support. I wish the same with my parnter sometimes. It's not her default MO, but she still surprises the heck out of me at times.
Best,
Bree
