Did a whole lot of nothing for most of yesterday, including a fruitless and waterlogged trip to Best Buy to try, once again, to spend the silly gift card my mother got my for Christmas. Why she got me a gift card to Best Buy when I don't buy anything at Best Buy and instead sent her three gift suggestions from LL Bean is a mystery to me. (Speaking of LL Bean, is anyone still in contact with Crystal/
being_homeless? She still has my camping sleeping back, has had it for nearly 2 years now, and I want it back.) So yeah, went to Best Buy, saw the same old crap that I have no intentions of buying, and left. (Sorry,
sudrin, I know you have an unholy love for Best Buy. You still love me, right?) Instead, I stopped in at Borders to pick up this month's book club book (
The Glass Castle by Jeanette Walls; so far really good) so it wasn't a total wash.
In the later evening, I headed out for some conversation with
bostonandrodyke,
livingwithsoul, and their friend, Casey. They drank vodka tonics, I drank water... which was enlightening. Casey talked about his sex life and it was rather entertaining considering I met him moments before and have never met the partner of which he spoke.
In vodka veritas, I suppose. =P
I woke up ridiculously early for what time I went to bed, but Jen had to head off to work for a "managers meeting" which is probably some foreign language for "yet another reason why her job sucks." Whyever they all need to get together on the occasional Sunday morning before the store opens is beyond me enough, but then to schedule it when she works the closing shift on Saturday night seems even meaner. (And yes, I know that /someone/ always has to close on Saturday night so someone will get screwed, but it always seems to be those weeks when Jen is the unlucky lady.)
But there is dim sum in our future, so really, how can you go wrong? Perhaps I will take photos of dim summy goodness!
