Dinner with the girls
Jul. 11th, 2005 11:27 pmTonight I was treated to a home-cooked dinner courtesy of 
Jenny and Lisa. Afterwards we played a board game and I ate so much candy that I had to /immediately/ brush, floss, and gargle upon my arrival home.
Thanks, girls! It was fun hanging out and you'll have to come out here sometime soon so we can repay the favor. :) We can play more board games and eat more food. (Less candy.)

It's funny, I always think we have so far to go to be grownups because we don't own a house, but then I go into other people's homes and I realize we /are/ kind of grown-up. I mean, we have this ridiculously prissy, spacious apartment with crazy things like a guest room. And a house full of furniture, even if some of it is old and all put together and not entirely grown up. And we don't have any roommates. We're kind of an entirely self-sufficient unit and I like it a lot.
(Of course, I've been a self-sufficient unit for a long time now.)
The only odd part was when I realized that dear Jenny is 10 years younger than me, which doesn't seem like a big deal when we're hanging out. Until I remember that Matt, the boy I babysat all through college in my dorm room, is 10 years younger than me. I have pictures of him posing in my dorm room in a goofy costume making a ridiculous "martial arts" pose. He was 9 years old. I was beginning my junior year of college.
