Just for Muddy:
Dec. 29th, 2007 10:11 pmOne should be very careful posting an "Am I a MILF?" poll when a certain LJ-reader happens to be your Big Deal Super Serious First Time In the Sack High School Boyfriend.
Because then, when you least expect it, you might be presented with this comment. Good lord.
I am still laughing.
(Not about the sex or anything, though! That would be SO MEAN! And he is such a nice guy!)

Ties that Bind
May. 22nd, 2007 09:28 amJen always remarks that she can't believe that somehow I manage to keep in touch with EVERYONE. Jen is sort of one of those people who has moved around a lot and then sort of drops ties with the people she knew at one place when she moves on to another place. I am the total opposite. I have moved a lot as well, but I totally hang on to people.
I still talk to people from kindergarten, elementary school, junior high school, high school, college, summer camp, graduate school, and all of the different places I've lived. Jen boggles because I keep friendships with almost all of my exes. I feel like if someone has been significant in my life in some way or another at some point, it was for a reason - so why cut it?
There was one person that was REALLY important to me for a big chunk of my adolescence that I had totally lost track of - my big deal high school boyfriend that bought me a promise ring and all of that stuff. I tried to Google him from time to time with no avail, but a year or more ago I ran into his mom at a restaurant in our hometown and she showed me pictures of his kids and I told her to tell him hello. Apparently he has been seeking me out on the internet as well, but I keep my personal info away. (Good. I'm glad he couldn't find me. Not because I don't like HIM, but because I don't need to be found by clients and weirdos.)
Anyway, he totally sent me "mail" on classmates as a last ditch effort this week and it has been really fun to catch up. This boy who was my best friend from 8th grade through when I left for college is now a grown man with two kids, and his little sister that I used to babysit is 21 years old! Man, I am ANCIENT.
Now I can say that I am in touch with ALL of my significant exes, without having a gap for Muddy Mudskipper. FUN!
(Of course, now is when the, "You're with a WOMAN?!?!?!" questions all pop out, so that will be fun, too.)
