Anticipation

Tomorrow is Christmas Morning around here since we are flying out to visit the JenFam in the afternoon. My brother and SIL are here and we will all be doing gifts together. I had so much fun putting the gifts under the tree, assembling gifts, and filling stockings. So much fun! Punk went to sleep saying "Santa is going to come when I am sleeping and the presents will be under the tree!" She is so excited about Christmas this year. She put out cookies for Santa on a special plate we bought and I put the crown and shoes - the things she asked Santa for - on the plate. She has so much loot under the tree, it really is ridiculous since we said we were going light on presents this year. WHOOPS.

Tomorrow we open gifts, I bring my car in for service, we find time to pack for the trip, and take off. Happy holidays, friends. I hope each and every one of you receive everything your heart desires this week and into the New Year.

I can't freaking wait for tomorrow morning. It is more exciting than when *I* was the kid!

i've never been a big fan of christmas, but i'm excited this year because i get to see it through jacob's eyes. he loves the tree, and actually tries to say "christmas". he likes the lights on the neighbor's house. he likes the silly lit-up things in our windows (santa, a snowman, a reindeer, etc). next year will be even better because he will actually get it. he's only 16 months old now, so he thinks it's all fun to look at but he doesn't understand.

It is sooo exciting this year - the whole santa claus and presents thing. We are having a lot of fun too. I wrapped presents the other night and then hid them in our furnace room and was like omg I can't wait 'til x-mas morning. Carys is getting a few big presents, that weren't necessarily expensive, but because they are big she is going to flip, you know? And it is all she is talking about - she has been giving me the blow by blow of what Santa is going to do, where the presents will go, what he is going to do with her stocking, how he will eat cookies and drink milk, how we have carrots for the reindeer, etc. etc. She is so into it!

Are we not super lucky to be mamas?
