A little joy

We walked out of the house tonight to run some errands. When I shut the door I was blasted with that wonderful smell of wood smoke in the air.

And then I realized it was MY wood smoke from MY stove.

Aaah, that was nice.

I am such a Posty McPosterson tonight, probably because Jen is watching Van Helsing, in which I have no interest. (We are PAYING for this!??!)

Anyway, Jen and I went on a wild goose chase all over Springfield (Home Depot), Easthampton (local hardware store) and Holyoke (Petco) to find a pet door to put into the door to the basement so we can keep the litter boxes down there without compromising heat to the basement.

Home Depot only had L and XL for dogs (60+ lbs.). Local hardware store had nothing. Petco had an assortment of pet doors - the cat doors were far too tiny for Big Daedalus (a whopping 20lbs), and the dog doors were totally whacked sizes with a small being up to 12 lbs and the medium being up to 40lbs. The medium was so big a small child could crawl through, while the small would squeeze my manly beastie.

A little searching online and we have ordered the Ideal Hefty Cat Door. *snicker* For cats of superior girth. Perfect size for my big boy!

It reminded me a little bit of when my grandmother always wanted to buy me "Huskies" pants when I was a kid. Poor Daedalus. Hefty Cat.
