No more swaddle
Nov. 12th, 2007 10:44 pmSo I had this beautiful baby who LOVED being swaddled and would drift seamlessly into sleep with that lovely fabric around her. She loved it so much that the other day, Jen and I went and bought three more of the large-size swaddling blankets that we used (Swaddle-Me) because the two we had were getting a little ratty from constant washing.
Last night, this same beautiful baby discovered that she was strong enough and mighty enough to roll over onto her belly while she was tightly and snugly swaddled. (For the record, this is not really supposed to be possible. Theoretically you need your arms to roll over.) The peacefully sleeping baby became an angry baby who was completely face down on her crib mattress with no arms to lift herself up.
Uh oh.
So much for the new swaddles. So much for our seamlessly drifting off into sleep baby.
Hello, quick trip to the store to buy sleep sacks. Hello, beautiful baby who now takes over an hour to fall asleep because she is whipping her arms around everywhere and getting into everything.
Yawn.
