(Stolen idea from Madame Zuzu)

You get one question. Any question. And I will answer it. Honestly.

Let the games begin!

Okay. What is the air-speed velocity of a laden swallow?

No, I'm kidding. My honest question?

What is your biggest regret? (I'm interested in stuff like that, so sue me.)

African or European?

~//~

My biggest regret, and this will sound angry and bitter and reactive (but it's not), is getting married.

I am idealistically opposed to marriage, both as a patriarchal institution and the heterosexist reality that it is. But I got swept up into wanting to make someone else happy, and I compromised my own ideals. I don't regret the relationship, no, that is regret-free. But I regret actually partaking in an institution that I loathe - and to /please/ someone, which really isn't high on my list of things to do.

So there you go, dollface.

What is your favorite flavor of Ben & Jerry's ice cream? Why?

Aaah, easy. Phish Food. :)

Something about Phish Food is just so sinfully good. I don't like chocolate ice cream. I'm not all that fond of marshmallows. But the combination of Ben & Jerry's chocolate ice cream, coupled with swirls of marshmallow fluff stuff is just to die for. And those little chocolate fish are adorable. I am a sucker for fish.

Close second is that combination one, it's Chunky Monkey crossed with something else (I forget what), and it's GOOOOOD, but only if I spit out the walnuts. So Phish Food it is.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? (Note: Not a physical trait. Something within.)

I wish I could cry once in a while. I've worked very, very hard to get my emotions back from the deep (I was purposely numb throughout childhood and adolescence), but I haven't yet conquered crying. It seems very healthy, and very releasing. I wish, sometimes, that there were tears in me, tears I could shed and release myself from some of these burdens. Similarly, I wish other people's tears didn't send me tunneling into bewilderment.

(p.s. I do cry sometimes, but only when I'm horribly angry - never sad - usually about twice a year.)

All right... an optimistic question just to show you I can love you better than these bozos for variety:

What was the best choice you ever made in your life?

The best choice I ever made was to come out "even though I didn't have to." I put this in quotes because at the time that I /did/ come out, I was in a long-term relationship with a boy, and I thought that relationship was going to last forever. So I could just have easily have never said or done anything.

But I didn't. I told parents and friends and other relatives and wore silly buttons and stuck goofy stickers on my car and went to Pride stuff and help youth and all kinds of other whacked out things.

And it has all been .very. positive for me.

The best decision I've made /recently/, though, was moving into the other bedroom. Hands down.

Okay. Mine is lame, but I'm going to ask it of all of you because I want you to ask me questions when I start my own lemming thread.

What is your favorite color and -- here's the tricky part -- why?

My favorite color is midnight blue Crayola.

Because it is the most beautiful crayon in the box. Because it looks like the color of the sky around the moon. Because it's perfect.

Mmmm, midnight blue Crayola.
