Yet another slothful weekend - in bed until after noon. Though today we lost an hour, so that almost excuses it. It's just that once I wake up, and she wakes up, I don't want to jump out of bed! Oops. We had planned to try to go away somewhere and geocache this weekend, and I'm glad we didn't because it was freeeeeezing outside. How can it be 80 degrees on Thursday and 32 yesterday? Riddle me that!

Last night, Jennifer and I went to see Max. I both liked and disliked the film. I liked the idea of the film, and I liked the energy of the film, and I liked Noah Taylor. And it had John Cusack in it, and I /love/ him, but this was certainly not his best film. He didn't seem right for it. Aah well. The good thing about the movie is that it encouraged my favorite artist to start painting again. *insert big grin here* I did a little writing, too, which is always good for keeping the brain young. I read back through my paper journal. There's stuff in there from as early as 1991. And it's /bad/.

I also, in the course of the weekend, found three caches (one with prettyvacantoneBrandie and two with kieronJennifer):

I also watched Secretary with laughingsalMissy Goodtimes and crushinatorBartley. I thought it was okay, but not as hot as I expected. I mean, yes, Maggie Gyllenhaal gets naked (YOWZA!) and that is good++. But it involved lots of spanking, which is bad++. So it balanced out, and was okay.

I also got the Daughter of the Week award by speaking to both my mother /and/ my father on the telephone today. My mom's really come a long way. For about a year, she couldn't even say the word 'Jen.' Now she asks about her before I mention her, wants to know how she's doing, even wants to say hello. My dad's always been really laid back about everything, but Mom... not so much. I'm really glad that's all working out. This evening, I found myself saying, out loud, "I think we should look for a place that's a good amount less than we're each paying right now, so we can put the difference in a savings account that we can use when we move to California." Yikes.
