The AIDS Walk was a great big pool of fun! The weather was really ick yesterday, so I was nervous about what today would look like, but it was perfect: just about 70, sunny, not too humid. Wonderful. We met up with
laserkitty,
osuptygal,
upsoclose and her Scott - all people I don't get to spend much time with, which was nice. I also saw
vorpalbla, Patience and Erica,
jonathanboland, Anne, Beck Gurney, and this boy whose name I can never remember. I ended up getting all kinds of goofy incentives (tshirt, frisbee, travel mug, binoculars) because I raised, get this, $915! I can't believe it! I have awesome friends and family members and coworkers. I will definitely bring the travel mug to work. Anyone want a frisbee? I was going to give mine to Teresa, but she got one, too. I still have my blue frisbee from Pride last year.
I think Jen and I made Teresa a little uncomfortable and feeling like a third wheel, and I feel really bad about that. Sorry, T. :(
Jen and I ended up walking back home, so we had an extra-long walk, which is good. I'm surprised I still feel good, though. I've been pretty sick all weekend, especially Friday and yesterday. (Of course. Bleh!) We went to Jen's work dinner yesterday and I almost fell asleep on her boss's sofa. We never made it to Carina's bachelorette party. :( I currently have a "husky lesbian voice," too. I should call
happy2beso.
These thoughts have nothing coherent to them, and nothing linking them together. I spent too much money this weekend... junk food, new clothes, new shoes, dinner, and I broke down and got a new litterbox for the beasts. I got the "extra giant" size, because, well, that's the kind of cat I have. Ha! And I ordered "Lucky" by Fifteen on half.com and got it for $5... and I got a brand new, sealed, Frogpond CD for $0.75! Woot!
Oh yeah! Jen and I are going to Missouri over Memorial Day weekend for
smurfbrother's birthday. YAAAAAAAY!

Re:
Date: 2003-05-05 08:35 am (UTC)The plague doesn't sound nice, though I do have to admit I'm always a sucker for a throaty lesbian voice!
Saw the "real lesbians" there - AKA: our auto mechanics. That was fun.
The parade of mullets - I swear to you - I'd seen mullets all night and made fun of the intermitently...but when the game was over and all of the die-hard Clippers fans left.....it was as though they'd all congregated together and then flushed out the system. Mullets GALORE, I tell you.
Even baby mullets. Mini-mullets. Families of mullets. I thought I'd seen them all - but they'd just been sending a few out into the system. The game ended and they all swarmed.
It was like my own hairstyle was under attack.
But I held my own.
