The sun is shining and so is my heart.
Jun. 23rd, 2003 11:09 pmI just had to go back 120 entries. You kids write too much. But I love ya!
Most of my stuff is unpacked, but the kitchen is a disaster. The cats are all tolerating each other now, which is lovely. But the very best part of all is: I love my apartment. Everything about it, I love. I love the rooms and the wood and the location and the girl that lives with me. Yes. Bliss. :) I am Obnoxious Gushing Girl!
I went to two job interviews today. I don't want to jinx myself, but I think I was pretty much offered a position this morning. I am going to call back tomorrow morning to find out. It's Monday through Friday 9-5, and it's working with young people, and it's "make your own schedule" case management-y stuff, and it has LISW supervision, /and/ it pays $4000 more per year than my current job. And did I mention that the organization had a little calendar up for the kids (with things like "Donut Day" and "Superman's Birthday") and tomorrow they're celebrating "Gay Pride Day"? The HR dude who interviewed me, who filled my head with all kinds of flattering things, said he thinks they might even offer DP benefits!
Oh, and employees get tuition reimbursement and tons of paid training. And they are eligible for up to two weeks of paid "Peace Leave" which basically means you can miss up to two weeks of work, PAID, for going somewhere and doing peace work. (!!)
And there's the usual medical, dental, 401(k), life insurance, vacation, etc. etc. And the HR dude basically said I could start whenever I wanted to, if I needed time to relax after this job, or to unpack my apartment, or whatever. He said someone is starting July 31st, and that is fine. So I could collect unemployment /and/ know that I had an awesome job. Like I said, I need to call tomorrow and tell him I want it. I hope he didn't give the faboo job away!
Well slap me with a two by four and call me ducky, I don't think it gets any better than this.
