Work Schmork
Sep. 15th, 2003 12:51 pmI just called and left voicemail with the Assistant Director at the job I was supposed to have a million years ago. I said, "Hi [name], this is Judith [lastname] - I interviewed with you /two and a half months ago/ for the Treatment Coordinator position. I was hoping that you and I could get together, either in person or by telephone, to talk about some concerns and issues I am having with this process and the length of time it is taking to negotiate it. My home number is [home number], and you can also feel free to call my cell phone at [cell number]. I look forward to hearing from you, and hope you are having a wonderful day." And then I hung up and said, "Fucker."
Earlier today, I submitted my resume for a job at a hospice care provider who is specifically looking for an MSW-level clinician. When I started working at a homeless shelter, everyone said, "Oh, that must be really hard." I think I'm feeling the urge to push the envelope (or challenge my emotional and clinical skills?) on that one a little bit. I can't help but find the challenge of hospice care work exciting.
I rode my bike to the post office, and stopped by the via colori site on the way home. Surprisingly, the squares weathered (pardon the pun) the rain fairly well! I thought there would be a lot of streaks and runs, but really, everything was just faded. I took some "day after" photos of our square for posterity, and took a look at all the beauty one last time.
