It's so amusing to me that I don't really like sitting home alone all day doing nothing, but lately I can't get up the energy to do anything else. You would think that I would have all this time to go [livejournal.com profile] geocaching or walking or biking or gods-know-what, but here I sit in the house doing nothing. I can't even say that I've read more books that usual, because I started increasing my reading before I lost my job. I haven't read all that many books, though, but I /did/ read Female Masculinity which was much heavier than a book that I would read on my lunch hour or whatever. Blah blah blah, I'm boring.

prudentlikeKelly Bunny came over earlier to drop off the cat carrier that she borrowed, and I convinced her to come inside and see the apartment. She thinks it is a "grownup" apartment, and I'm inclined to agree with her. It's funny because my last apartment was definitely a kidlike bachelor pad, and this one seems more serious. That's good in some ways because I like how it looks, but bad because I have a box full of unpacked toys and I don't know where to put them, because I don't want to spoil the grownup-ness! Augh!

I now have a dinner date with elspazz0Sarah (sheesh! how many Jens and Sarahs do I know?) at Crap City TM, and then I might watch the premiere of Survivor. I've never seen an episode of Survivor. Heck, I never really watch television, but perhaps Gay TV night with whirledpeasPeas is rubbing off on me. GIVE ME THAT REALITY GOODNESS! Yes, I am becoming middle America. Soon I'll start saying 'pop' and then you can beat me senseless.

Congratulations to infinite_loveMissie and her Ellen on their engagement! YAY!

Okay. How do you do the <lj user=""> thing and make it say a different name, but still point to the right LJ user?

I love Survivor, but I still say "soda"! I think you're safe. :)

Phew!

It's soda. It's just soda. And Survivor is a weird show. I saw my first ever episode last night.

Definately soda. :)

The thing that I like the most about Survivor is just watching how these people interact with each other. The whole knowing that the winner gets a million dollars, but you have to work with others or you end up being one of the first gone. It's the whole idea of how well they work together and how well they keep their thoughts masked. Kinda like Ms. No-bra getting booted yesterday because she couldn't keep her yap shut about not liking someone and wanting that person gone almost as soon as they'd all decided on who was going to go. I just *shrugs* I find it interesting, even if it's not high-art or the best use of an hour. :)

It's definitely psychological fun, except that I know the show is edited to death to portray people a certain way.

Oh, it certainly is edited to look a certain way. But it's still fun, too. It's even more fun when the people who have been voted off are on one of the talk shows (like they used to be on Rosie like the Monday or Tuesday after) and they'd talk about how the editing on the show doesn't show you everything. I am hoping that Ellen is going to get those interviews soon, since her show seems to be about the closest clone of Rosie's, and Ellen finally has a show where she can just be funny in her way, not constrained by some stupid sit-com formula. If/when I start working again, I'm going to have to tape Ellen, I think. She's just so adorable!

I saw one episode of the Ellen show, and it is definitely very cute. I don't really get into talk shows (or TV really), but she had Richard Simmons on and the combination of the two of them was out of control. I couldn't stop laughing!

I should make a poll of how many Jens and Sarahs. But right now you are the "furthest away" Jen!
