Don't make me go outside today! Waaaaah! (Fairly light day - 1 school visit, 2 home visits, staff meeting, 1 home visit) It's freeeeeeeezing!

Jen started her new routine of getting up at 6:45am so she can make herself breakfast before work. This came from a conversation we had about when she saw the nutritionist and got some really great advice that she hadn't been able to really embrace yet. Breakfast is important, yo! My body woke me up at 6:30am because the sun was out. Damn it, I love longer days as much as the next guy but I hate sleeping farmer's hours. In Ohio, the sun came up LATER and stayed out LONGER and that worked much better for me. Aah well. I keep taking my temps earlier and earlier.

I'm having a tough time with the CF checks, probably because I have hormone problems and therefore have unreliable CF. It's seemed more "wet" than "creamy" for like the last 4 or 5 days but really, if that was the case, I should be getting closer to EWCM and I'm definitely not. So I decided to check cervical position/softness this morning, although I probably should have started earlier in my cycle for comparison. I remember that TCOYF mentioned (why do I remember these things?) that a firm cervix feels like the tip of your nose and a soft cervix feels like your lips. So there I am, right hand checking my cervix and left hand feeling my nose and my lips for some sort of guide. How hysterical that must have been! Still, I didn't know whether it was firm or soft or whatever (so of course I picked the Libra answer "medium" on my chart) but it /did/ feel kind of open. I think. So we'll see. I'll probably continue doing the cervical checks since I'm so unreliable with the CF.

I'm so psyched that the Dolly Parton Transamerica song is free on iTunes right now. YAY! Dolly Parton is so cute. I love Dollywood. I was there for my first honeymoon, yo!

Have a wonderful day, friends!

Hey chica,
Just wanted to mention that I think it's one hell of a challenge you have taken on with the "make a baby" work, and I enjoy hearing how you're doing, so keep on plugging there - you'll make it! :)

I hope you're right! :)

I just hope I can pull it off.

yeah jude, keep plugging. i mean, keep giving it your best "shot." just keep thrusting your energy into it and it'll pay off. cuz you're the "cream" of the crop.

i'll try to think of more, but i'm just not that experienced in the art of making spooge jokes.

ooh - thanks for the iTunes tip!

I miss the sun hours in Ohio as well. At least I walk home from work in the light these days, though. It was a little depressing leaving work at 5 in the pitch black this winter.

I grew up with the New England times but the Ohio daylight hours really suited my circadian rhythms better. I'd rather sleep a little later and stay up a little later if I can, and the hours in Ohio were much better suited for that. Drat.

What are the hours in New England like?

I always had trouble figuring out CF and CP. I mostly just did the temps because I couldn't figure out the others, although I did find out what EWCM looks like, and I think I had a lot of it on the day that we conceived Gregory. I said "hm is that EWCM? nahhhhhhhh" LOL.

Well, at the shortest time of the year, it was getting to be pitch black at 4:30pm. And the sun would come up at 7am or so.

Whereas in Ohio, during the darkest days, the sun came up a little before 8am and went down around 5:30... so you always could get home from work before it got TOO dark.

I miss that.

I did think it was cool in Hawaii when it gets light at 7:30 am and dark at 7:30 pm in the winter, and they told me it is about the same all year round. Of course I do kind of like it staying light out until 9:30 in the summer.

I love those long summer nights. :)

But I could deal with 7:30-7:30, too. :)

Still no temp shift. So I guess my silly fantasy is pretty much done. :)

i am in love with dolly parton. and i am eternally grateful that you told me about the itunes thing. you have no idea how jealous i am that you've been to dollywood. i'm dead serious. i've seen the travel channel special on dollywood like 4 times.

also, which was it, wet or creamy? hehehehehehe, sorry.

I'm glad you took advantage of my iTunes discovery. I was pretty psyched to see that it was up there for free, too. It is such a cute song, though I admit I am not the Dollystalker that you are. :) Dollywood was a little scary. You should go, though.

p.s. Creamy.

Keep checking. Soon you will be able to tell. The first time I tried I couldn't even feel my cervix. It was like the black hole.

I can feel it, I just can't tell if it's firm or soft or whatever. I mean... I /think/ it feels like my lips, but hello! It's my cervix! It's supposed to be kind of soft and warm in there.

Craziness. I can't believe this is what my life has been reduced to. ;)

Trust me it will get worse. You lose all shame. Soon you will be taking about CM for dinner and asking Jenn to look at it. You lose all shyness.

So there I am, right hand checking my cervix and left hand feeling my nose and my lips for some sort of guide.

This sounds like the beginning of a very interesting movie. I'm not sure what the movie would be about, but it would be interesting.

And oddly, typing that just reminded me of Saved!. I think it's time for some caffeine.

Oh, I loved Saved!!

But I don't think my cervix would make a good movie. :)
