After a quick trip to the house to throw out the last of the stuff, we spent some QT with the grandparents and caught the end of Cinderella Man, then went out to dinner. Instead of heading home, we spent several hours soaking in [livejournal.com profile] skreeky's pool with [livejournal.com profile] whuffle and [livejournal.com profile] halleyscomet. Good times were had by all, especially all of the pool floaties, because I made a point to sit on all of them. Each and every one.

I could float around in a pool for a million hours, I think. No problem. I need a pool.

d00d. When I was a Hall Director in Missouri, one of the buildings I worked in was called "Freddy." It was a U-shaped building and housed over 800 students.

In the actual U was an olympic-sized swimming pool that had a very unfortunate crack in its foundation. It was the FIRST olympic-sized swimming pool, west of the Mississippi. It hadn't been used for a good 5 years - but you can imagine with four floors and 400-people looking RIGHT into the pool area, it had once been the hotspot of activity.

I just went to look and check on it and found out that they're in the process of tearing the whole thing out. In its place will be a nice court-yard...but in the pictures you can tell how enormous it was. Too cool.

Wow, that would have been awesome to have an olympic-sized pool in your dorm courtyard. Seriously, I would have LOVED that. Awesome!
